I have the same issue, but it happens with deck on the right side. After playing for a while, the song restarts by itself, in the middle of playing a song from a cue point. Also, it becomes very sensitive, u can touch anywhere on the unit and song begins to jitter, than it completely locks the right deck and for a while it stalls. You have to wait till the song is finished. I only have that issue on the right deck the left deck is fine. I live in Angola (africa), and i bought the SX in U.S, but i can't just pick up and return it its too far. I tried to update the firm wave, it still not working. I don't know what to do? i urgently need some solution to these problem.

Folgen[SOLVED] Pioneer DDJ SX
I purchased my DDJ SX mid controller in December 2012, just two weeks into use, i noticed that ever time i gently touch the left channel or simply banged my DJing table towards on the left side, the unit will simply start playing any some looped or cued on that channel and with time it completely unable to play some as any slight touch to the left channels (1 & 3) simply send track to restart or plays any track cue on that channel. Upon returning the unit to the retailer and testing it to confirm my observation, they too seem caught off guard by the nature of this fault and to avoid my refund claim resulting in my disappointment in the unit, they've come back to say a possible spillage a thing they can't prove is cause of this problem. Am i the only one to face this problem and now thinking Pioneer might have got it wrong with the SX. Please advise is this retailer is being honest and what would be the possible cause for of this fault with the Pioneer SX which is so bad even a baby touch of the housing will create all sorts on this unit...

At present there seem to be no solution coming forth from Pioneer. I couldn't even update the firmware even after following the given instructions and to add insult to my purchase, am now entering a legal battle with some so called Pioneer retailer who confessed to me that yes there is a faulty batch of the Sx and if yours works it works if it fails you not even guaranteed a replacement let alone a refund. The SX is a huge flop from pioneer, resellers are just looking at their profits something which I would recommend you get your money back sooner or else you'll end up with this piece of kit you'll never even uses as advertised by manufacturer. Its really annoying how Pioneer has blanked themselves from faults with the SX which no on should cheat they do exist it only took mine 2 weeks before i noticed this fault.
Below is the excuse i was give:
Technicians report
Inspected unit which was found to have tiny splashes of spillage to the top in general these were tiny amounts (pictures taken) we have left some for the customer to see. Despite the very small amount one particle in particular was all that was needed to cause the fault (an extremely tiny amount of dried up contamination in the edge of the top left velocity touch pad resulting in it binding in the hole in the plate and the switch being activated even when lightly pressing the cabinet in the area, once the foreign particle was removed the pad was able to return to the “fully up position” clearing the fault. This was the cause of the over sensitivity of the unit as the pad was virtually touching down constantly, we have sent some pictures showing tiny splashes to the rest of the unit enabling you to explain this to your customer. As previously explained given the fact that it was not necessary for us to open the unit we have made no charge on this occasion as a goodwill gesture, however any future spillage related issue would not be covered under the terms of the manufacturers guarantee. Updated firmware from 1:00 to latest revision 1:02.
Reassembled and tested.
The velocity keypad was cleaned the picture shows where the spillage was the remaining spillage was left so you could point the rest of this out to your customer.
That's a pretty lame excuse given in the technicians report. I have the same issue with my unit, it's just on the left side (1st row 2nd pad). My DDJ-SX has never been near or around liquid of any kind. It just started doing this one day while doing a mix for a client. Otherwise, my DDJ-SX is stored in its travel case in a temperature controlled dry location. I will give updates on my journey getting it fixed.
Please do give an update as you wouldn't believe to dat am still in dispute with the retailer that sold me the unit. If anyone comes across this company DJ STOP (www.djstop.co.uk/) don't do business with them, they look professional and tell you everything you want to hear about pioneer and their products yet when faults happen they don't want to know worse still its very unlikely you'll even get a refund of your money which i've been disputing since reporting this fault. My advice to people purchasing the SX is it is a good brake through for pioneer, but with my experience through this retailer i'll say its not worth it. Until pioneer get it right don't go for it yet still keep if you in the UK, Keep away from this retailer DJ STOP located in Croydon they are an embarrassment to pioneer as a brand.
