ddj- t1 asio problem since upgrading my pc

ok here goes. a few weeks back i bought a ddj-t1 and installed in on my 6 year old pc running 32 bit windows 7 and it ran fine except i was having to adjust the asio buffer quite high as the pc just wasnt fast enough to run it on the lower buffer settings and i was getting tracks dropping out for a second when i put a track on the other deck but in the main it was working.

anyway i decided a new better spec pc was in order to get the best from it so i ordered myself new parts and built my pc again.

problem is since i did, no matter what i do i cant get any sound from the ddj t1 in asio mode either from the master output or the phones. i know its still working and everything else is working as i can still play it thru shared mode but thats not what i want after spending so much money upgrading my pc

my old set up was an intel 2 core processor, 1.5gb ram a cheap mobo, windows 7 32bit  and soundblaster x-fi soundcard, my new set up is a quad core intel i5-3570k, 8 gb ram, asus p8z77-v mobo, soundblaste x-fi and windows 7 64 bit.

when i go into control panel it appears that instead of the ddj finding the installed pioneer asio drivers its using some generic usb audio driver.

so far ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, disabling the mobos onboard audio in bios, using 32 bit windows in case it was the 64 bit causing the probs, starting from a fresh install of windows and installing the pioneer asio drivers and ddj before installing any other drivers all to no avail.

its completely driving me nuts to have spent all that money and all the effort to improve my ddj performance only to find it doesnt work at all now. anybody any ideas?

sorry i should add im using traktor 2

**edit** ive just installed it all on my laptop to test and all works fine so i know the controllers not faulty for some reason the asio driver just doesnt want to play nice with my new system :(       **edit**

ok i sorted it myself. read someone talking about plugging it out of the usb and back into a different one when traktor was running so i pulled it out of the back and put it in a front usb and i knew straight away when it reinstalled the drivers and said pid compliant device or whatever as i hadnt been getting that. worked sweet on restart however ovbiously i dont want it plugged into my front usb so i switched it back to the rear and it wouldnt work no matter which port i tried. then i dawned on me they were all ports built into the mobo and the front ports were an addon with a cable to the board so i tried it in my 4 port usb pci card and it worked straight away. obviously theres some sort of compatibility issue with the mobos onboard usb ports which tbh work fine for everything else. so its running in my pci card usb slots absolutely perfectly. not happy ive wasted over a full day tho only to end up switching usb port in the end lol
