@Inertia > The DDJ-SX is a standard audio MIDI controller so I would assume it is absolutely possible. But can I ask why you want to do this? What would your setup be?

[SOLVED] Does the DDJ-SX have a built in soundcard Like the DJM-2000
I currently own a DJM-2000, thinking of getting the DDJ-SX. I am an Ableton user. I currently route audio out of Ableton (via the DJM soundcard) to 4 channels on the DJM.
Can I do the same with the DDJ-SX? Run 4 channels of audio out of Ableton to the 4 individual channels on the DDJ?

Gavin,
When I perform as a DJ I have been using Ableton. I run 4 stereo channels in Ableton (4 tracks) which are routed to the DJM-2000 Channels 1-4. The reason for this is so that once the audio hits the mixer all of my mixing is "old school". Done via the DJM's faders, EQ's, effects, etc.... I do this so that I don't have the typical Ableton issues of looking like I'm checking my emails for 2 hours.
My goal with the SX would be to have the same ability (mix audio from Ableton using the faders and eq's on the SX) across 4 stereo channels. I'd also be using the additional controls (Velocity pads, jog wheels, etc....) in Ableton to control a few VST parameters and some basic Ableton Navigation commands when using it. However, I'd like to have the ability from time to time to use it for playing "old school" CDJ style with Serato. Basically, all the things I could do with a couple CDJ's and the DJM unit, in a single piece of gear (The SX)
If you ever need a good User Persona for product dev. I'd make a doozy :)

Hi Gavin. Any word on this?
Ableton (channels 1-4) -------------> DDJ SX (Channels 1-4) ------------> OUT TO MAIN SYSTEM
For the record, I have figured out the answer on my own.
After a trip down to the local Guitar Center with my laptop, I was able to determine that the Soundcard in the DDJ-SX does not work as I had hoped. WIth the laptop plugged in to the SX via USB, Ableton does see the soundcard. However it only provides 2 stereo channels as outputs. With the options 1/2 (Stereo) , 3/4 (Stereo) , OR 1 - 4 (Single/Mono). Even then, you can actually only use 1 of the stereo pairs to assign to a channel on the DDJ-SX, as you will still need 1/2 or 3/4 as the CUE output. This is extremely disappointing. Everything else about the SX was so promising to me.
@Inertia > Ah thats a bummer, sorry to hear the product isn't for you. Thanks for sharing your findings.
