[OPEN] DDJ-WeGO Jog Wheels not responding to touch

Since this wasn't addressed in a similar post, I thought I'd start another one.

DDJ-WeGO running VirtualDJ LE on a Vista laptop.  Latest firmware installed on the WeGO.

I can't seem to figure out the cause, but it seems to be getting worse.  First the jog wheels stopped responding in "vinyl mode" and moving them only changed the pitch.  Turning the computer off-and-on seemed to fix it.  Now, no matter what I'm doing, when I put a finger on the platter to pause the music, the music just keeps on playing.  Nothing's on my fingers, and nothing's been spilled on my WeGO (I even bought the decksaver cover and use it whenever I'm not using the WeGO). All the other buttons work as expected.  I recently saw a youtube video of somebody with the same problem, so I'm glad I'm not alone in this matter, and I hope there's an easy fix.

@Jude > Have you tried using the WeGO with another computer to eliminate the controller as the trouble spot? If you don't have access to another computer, try downloading a copy of MIDI-OX and see if any MIDI signal is detected when touching the jog.

Pulse, thanks for replying. I *think* I figured out what it was.  I read in another article somebody else had the same problem with a different controller and they fixed it by checking their USB connections and making sure they were tight.  I rechecked my connections (one was just slightly askew) and so far, the WeGO seems to be working properly.

Hi,

Not sure if I should open another thread or not as I am having the same issue here.

My left wheel is intermittent when used to move back and forth across a loaded track. Pressing the metallic face of the jog wheel pauses the track as expected. When using the side of the jog wheel to slow/line up/ or pan across a track it hardly works, almost like it isn't configured correctly.

Any ideas? I tried looking at the USB connection as Jude mentions above, not sure I could make my connection any better and I don't see any changes.

I rand the MIDI OX program and get the same intermittent feed from the left jog wheel. The right one is fine.

I would really appreciate any experts out there giving me some tips.

Thanks.

@All > I had a problem with my WeGO (1st gen) where the jogs seemed I had to press REALLY hard to get any scratch action, but updating to the newest firmware addressed the issue and now I have no problems with both sides responding properly. Try updating the firmware before anything else.

@Ecoute > Which model WeGO do you have?

@Ecoute > Can you first try updating the firmware (again) and then try using a MIDI monitor (either MIDI-OX on PC or MIDI Monitor on Mac) to see if there is any signal coming from the problem jog?

@Ecoute > That actually provided me enough information to tell you that the MIDI signal from the touch-sensitive jogs is working properly. What software are you using that it's not working? Can you download a copy of Serato DJ Intro to test it out and see if it works there? I'm wondering if you might have disabled vinyl mode in your software and want to rule that out.

it is the same friend. i install serato intro and makes me the same. virtual dj 7, djay , Serato and Traktor . can be any mapping on my mac ? ddj internal settings wego ? I read in the manual that if you press control A + fx1 can set the jog sensivility.which is the default settings to adjust as manufactured? of course, vinyl enabled. I'm half crazy

I resolved this connecting my notebook ac adapter

or try to use djc wecai (Y cable for ddj wego) with 5V 1A  ac adapter (red plug)

the problem is a insuficient energy sending from notebook to ddj-wego when not plugged ac adapter.

I have experienced problems with my WEGO s right job wheel not responding to touch.Having tried different software I could not find a solution to the problem.

Yesterday I removed the bottom cover and cleaned the two square earthing contacts which have pieces of foam underneath them, there is one either side close to each jog wheel assembly. These earth the wheels to the metal plate in the bottom cover.

After cleaning these contacts the jog wheels worked perfectly fine.
