DDJ SZ not recognized

Forst off, I'm using this on a Mac with bootcamp on my win 7 partition, because Serato DJ 1.6.1 won't even launch in the native OS X partition. I installed the driver and Serato DJ. I open up the SZ utility program and it says it's connected, I then run the firmware program and it says the controller isn't connected. I say no biggie, I'll just play with it for a bit in SDJ. Well SDJ says it can't connect to the midi device in the uper left hand corner, and gives a warning at the bottom of the error, but on the right hand side pane it says that there is a device connected. Anyone been able to solve this issue before? I really want to use this thing.

Cheers.

I have the same problem with a Windows 7 laptop with only USB 3.0 ports.
Take also a look at the Serato-forum, there is a thread on a Maverick-problem.

I have the same issue on my Win7 laptop. I did see many of users having same issue on Serato forum, Windows (in control panel) shows the DDJ SZ properly connected with the driver running normally, also the DDJ SZ utility is showing the controller connected, but when go to the Serato DJ (my version is 1.63) it appears "failed to connect MIDI device" on the bottom of program, the right hand side show device connected, click into My Serato can see DDJ-SZ activated, but on the top of left hand side it showing no compatible device connected?? Why? Can Pioneer engineer help to answer this, I really need help as I love this machine....
