DDJ-SZ flimsy mic knobs?

Just received today my DDJ-SZ, I was wondering if anyone else have this issue:

I have recently purchased the SZ and discovered the Mic 1, Mic 2 and Gain 1 knobs or very loose. Especially with turn the knobs clockwise/counter-clockwise, they don't rotation true. Which leads me to believe during the manufacturing process something caused the stems/pods to get bent.

Yesterday I went to the store where I purchased the unit and had the sales person open 3 other units to see if this was a defective unit or? After opening all of the factory sealed box, we discovered that all of the SZ units had this same issue with Mic and Gain 1 knobs.

I'm wondering if any one else has this issue and have you done anything about it with Pioneer Customer Service. What were you told?

I'm looking to provide this information because it seems these controller manufactures are just producing junk to generate money.

Without actually feeling them it's hard to say. If they're anything like @Floren's video (above), they seem to be within expected tolerances.

I have an SZ, and one of the first manufacturing run that had the jog sensitivity issue.   I too thought the same of the looseness of some of the knobs including the mic ones considering the price and the fact it's the 'flag ship' so I questioned the repair guy (official Pioneer warranty) when I had the jogs fixed.   Apparently, the reason they are like that is because the circuit board that certain knobs connect to are very low down within the chasis and therefore require very long stems, and longer stems means lateral movement.

Thanks @Mark, that should help address the concern. :)

While using the this past weekend, I have noticed the Mic knobs doesn't seat in the POD straight as in pressed in straight.  When rotating the knob clockwise to increase the volume of the mic, I have noticed the Mic 1 and Mic 2 knobs rub on the aluminum face plate.  This can be felt while turning the knob.  In addition, I have went to the store were I purchased the unit, store rep opened 2 other factory sealed boxes and all units have the same concern as I.    The Mic knobs are the only knobs on all units that do this.    What is Pioneer doing about it?

@Deejay Mixx

the mic rubber knobs slide off, maybe its just pressed down too far, you can lift the knob slightly up so it no longer rubs

@BriChi

That was the first idea I attempted.  While doing that I was able to move the cap away from the faceplate but due to the position of stems for the Mic Knobs and how theyre installed in the SZ; the cap sits crooked.  Its now more apparent that the Mic pods are designed crooked in the unit.

I have also checked this on the other units, during my first observation and now after having used the unit I thought it was some kind of break-in period or getting-used-yo "type situation" but unfortunately it looks like a design flaw.

Now to go a step further I also checked and observed the other knobs on the mixer portion of the SZ, as I rotated each knob the only knobs that don't rotate in a straight "non-rubbing type " fashion are the mic knobs.

@Deejay Mixx > As per my post above, the videos linked show performance within normal operation tolerances based on the design and manufacture of the SZ. There is nothing wrong if the mic knobs are slightly wiggly.
