[SOLVED] DDJ SR goes crazy

Hello,

I have purchased a Pioneer ddj sr controller about 1 months ago and I had no issues until last monday, about after 1 hour of playing the left deck did some crazy things. Like when I pressed cue at the left deck the right deck song started to play from the start again,  all the buttons from left or right deck flashing and changed to slicer mode both decks, when i pressed the tempo key button both decks started to loop the songs. when i press the sync button Serato areas change, I also noticed that in the left deck the lights of effects at the upper part were lightly light to the beat and the sampler light was changing colour to purple not blue...

I tried to switch off and on and nothing happened, I also tried to restart serato dj and my PC but no luck, I was using firmware 1.07 from the day I purchased it and tried to reinstall it but the same... I tried to go to 1.6.2 version but nothing changed.

after some hours unplugged  it plays ok  for some minutes and then the nightmare begins again and even if its playing ok  the lights of effects and slicer are behaving strange  only at the left deck.

My Pc is new running on win7 64bit  intel i5, 8 gb RAM...protected by UPS...

The controller is usually connected via usb hub with its own power supply...

Any other controllers i have tried on this setup like the numark NS7,  the Allen and heath xone 4d and the reloop contour ie edition work without problems

Im looking for a solution online but i cant find anything....

I think that it is imported to mansion that the issue occurs on other PCs and Laptops too...

This is my answer to Pioneer after "solving" this issue....I sold the DDJ SR and i am a happy person.. I dont want a "professional" Dj Controller witch is unable to operate with a USB HUB ... There a are a lot of nice other products  and firms.. In fact i just bought a 4 channel controller in the same price class witch works fine without any problems  even with a USB Hub :-)...

For all the people who spend about 500 $ for a '' Professional" DDJ SR or SX i feel sorry for you!

I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE PLAYERS, AND I'M HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH BOTH PLAYERS

I'M FROM THE CARIBBEAN AND WOULD SURELY PREFER AN ONLINE FIX

I would contact Tech Support and see if they have another option for you with this.

Seems there's an issue with the Pioneer DDJ SR, I'm hoping against all odds there's an online fix.

And thanks djjay.

I've managed to ship the two players up to a family member, Where can they get a Tech Support or Service Repair Center in the New Jersey or Brooklyn area to have the units looked at ?

I'm using the buith-in USB hubs on my 3 laptops that powers & send signals to the SR.

Why ?

Just trying to determine if bus-power is an issue due to a hub.

@Nigel > What is the make / model of your laptop(s)?

I've got a Macbook, Macbook Pro & a HP Pavilion.

However both controllers first started giving the problems while being used on the HP Pavilion

Do not use a hub with the SR, it actually states that in the manual and I don't want you damaging the unit because of a hub. Send it in for tech support.

It actually states that " A USB 2.0 port is required to connect the computer to this unit."

It's these USB ports on my laptops I use,

Nothing's added between the Laptops and the unit, The units are hooked up directly from the USB ports on my computer.

To any users still experiencing issues with their SR not responding; please contact your dealer or Pioneer technical support for repair / replacement as there could be an issue with your controller.

As noted in the user manual, DO NOT USE the SR with a USB hub as it may cause electrical damage which would not be covered by warranty.

I just purchased an SR yesterday evening and uploaded the fir are from1.02 to the latest firmware and am experiencing the left deck cue issues. Was there ever a fix to this issue outside of sending it back to Pioneer? I have up to seven days to return the controller. Please let me know if this issue has been fixed.

I have had my board since February and this just started happening in the last couple of weeks. I run the ideal setup with a Mac Book Pro USB 2 port running directly to the board. I'm a DJ at the world famous Shotgun Willies in Denver Colorado. We had to send our pioneer DDJ-SX2 back to Pioneer 3 months ago. Guitar Center is finally just giving us a replacement. Ive been bringing in my own personal DDJ-SR for the last 3 months. Now this starts happening. I was just about to go big with a DJM S9 and a couple of PLX 1000's but not if this is the QA I can expect from Pioneer.

I don't use the sync feature often but the last couple of weeks Ive been using it more. Here is how the problem occurs. I have a track playing on the right deck. I turn on sync on the right deck. Its when I tap sync on the left deck. The left FX panel disengages from the left deck. The right FX panel engages on the left deck and remains engaged on the right deck. In Serato my FX panel and SP6 panel disappear and the recording panel pops up. Sometimes its worse. It will load instant doubles then engages auto loops of an indeterminate length on both decks. Basically the controller looks like a bizarre Christmas tree. Serato at this point has beat grids open and is just playing without a pilot. Fortunately, at work, we have another controller hooked up to solid mixer, so I can cue up another track on another board and reboot without killing the show. After I reboot, the problem returns after a few syncs....

Hi Guys,

I'm experiencing the exact same issue as Jannis.

Hi Jannis, did you eventually have this rectified on your end?
