I would search here and on YouTube for help with this, but the SX2 would be a great choice and you can run Serato or other programs. There are other choices, and what you want to do a s DJ down the road should be the direction you go.
Hey guys, I want to start Djing as a hobby, mostly for fun and not for the money. I was wondering what controller woul be best, I have no experiance in DJing, but I do have some in normal sound/ light mixing. I was thinking about the DDJ SX, the first one. I have heard a lot of good thinkgs about the SX and the SX2. I mostly want one which is friendly to beginners and where the interface isnt too hard to learn. Could you guys please help me, thanks in advance. Im am on somewhat tight bidget, as I have about $1000.
Along with a controller I think I would need some software. I have heard alot about TRAKTOR and this Serato, or something like that, and I would like the controller to be compatible with at least on of them. Which on is best and why? My friends tell em that TRAKTOR is best, but as I haven't tried any of the I don't know. Could you please tell me what I should go for, thanks!
Help would be greatly appreciated as I do not know anything about controllers and mixers.

@DjJay: The SX2 was the one I looked first at, but it said that that was exclusivly for Serato DJ, is this true? If so, the SX1, can that run other software such as TRAKTOR, og only Serato? About the direction I wanna go, I dont see my selfa s a profesional DJ if that is what you mean, maybe some small stuff but nothing too huge.
If you're only considering it for hobby with possible expansion later, I'd suggest the SX (first gen) as it's currently discounted by dealers to get rid of old stock, or even the SR. Any of Pioneer's controllers can be used with virtually every software as they all transmit MIDI data.
@Pulse Does $1105 sound fair for a brand new DDJ-SX first gen? And thank you fior your answer.
