DDJ-SX2 sound output only working with VirtualDJ and literally nothing else.

(Forgive the long-winded post. I want to explain this as clearly as possible.) So I used my DDJ-SX2 for the first time last night. It worked great with the exception of one glaring issue that has me at a loss: the sound card inside the controller doesn't want to play well with anything BUT VirtualDJ. When I was using my Mixtrack Pro, I set it as the default sound device for Windows and everything I opened that output audio ran through it. Simple enough. When I do the same with the SX2, VirtualDJ outputs audio correctly, but literally NOTHING else will. Winamp (which I use for filler music between karaoke singers) gives me an error when I try to play a song, I tested VLC (which "played" the song but with no audible output), and Karma won't even do that (it just marks the track as played but doesn't even try). I ended up having to run a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable from my laptop itself to a second channel on my mixer, setting the primary sound device back to the internal card, and having the controller's sound (VirtualDJ) on one channel and the laptop's sound (Winamp, Karma, etc.) on another. Any ideas why nothing but VirtualDJ will properly utilize the SX2's sound card? It just seems weird that my $200 Mixtrack Pro did this out of the box but a $1000 Pioneer controller is just like "Nope." Help?

While I very much sincerely appreciate you taking the time to respond to my issue, did you actually read what I posted (or even the title)?

Everything is working just fine in VirtualDJ and my computer is recognizing the controller perfectly.

The problem is that VirtualDJ is the ONLY program that will output audio through the SX2's built-in sound card. When I was using my Mixtrack Pro, I could set it to the primary sound device in Windows and everything that played sound (VirtualDJ, Winamp, Karma, MPC, VLC, etc.) would use it as the sound card without issue. When I set the SX2 to the primary sound device, it works with VirtualDJ and nothing else.

Thanks, yes, I did read it, I was asking if you had tried verifying that the system was identifying the device within Windows, independent of other applications.

Have you tried running it with Serato? You didn't mention that one in your posts.

I apologize if I misunderstood what you were suggesting then. I wasn't trying to be rude.

I have not tried it with Serato, but I'm not sure what difference it would make since the issue isn't with the controller-controlled software itself, but all other Windows programs.

Also, this guy is having the same exact issue and his post mentions it works perfectly with Serato and Traktor. http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthread.php?t=85996

I'm at a total loss as to what else to try.

I should also note that while his post states he's running Windows 8, I'm running (a completely clean install of) Windows 7, so that effectively eliminates the OS version as the culprit.
