Hey Pioneer and Forum people,
First off I really like the functions and the look of the DDJ-SZ.
BUT
The after weeks of waiting with a heartrate that is not healty I was really dissapointed when I finaly saw the real built quality.
Let me be honest here, The controller works great.
Everything does what it should do.
Except for a little issue with the jogwheels which i will let you know further down this post.
So when i first saw the controller i was like "WOW!!!! This is awesome"
But when I Started using it I found that the Mic volume buttons and the beats rotary knobs where so wiggely that I really am scared to touch them.
The wiggle so much that i really think that if i push or turn just a fraction to hard they will snap off.
And while i hear the knobs scratching on the sides, my confidence in them working longer then a year is going down real fast.
This is really unacceptable for 2000 euros!
And pioneer in the Netherlands keeps saying that it's is completely normal.
Well I'm real sorry to bring it to ya but look up the internet.
Many people are complaining about it.
But for some reason I have spoken to people that have bought the DDJ-SZ more recently and they don't have any problems.
I made a vid about how wobely they are and no one i know would accept that.
Now that my reseller has made a repair and pioneer holland saying that it is normal they just say I just doing this to be an a**hole.
Sorry but I do not want to be at a live gig and stand there with a broken knob in my hands!
So if you reed this dear pioneer forum admins/moderators or whoever is respond here, please let me know what you think about almost breaking knobs :) I'm curious.
ps. the wiggle has gotten worse since i made the vid at the buttom of this post
Second thing I noticed.
When my controller is in a warm environment and you are playing for more then an hour, the controller thinks i touched the platter.
For some weird reason it just stops the current track playing like I'm putting my hand on it and dragging it back slowly and release it.
It happens at random but I noticed that the jogwheels get really warm when playing for an extened amount of time.
I don't think that should be the case.
And no it's is not the software cause i have a dual boot for 2 windows 8 and both have serato and both have the same problem.
Also I have heard from one person also owning the ddj-sz he experienced the same but didn't mind.
Well it can ruin a perfect mix so i care.
Let me know if anyone else has had the same problem and please pioneer let me know what you have to say on the knobs issue.
I want to keep playing for more then 2 years before even having a tingle in the back of my mind thinking about knobs breaking off.
Best,
Jeroen
