Anyone experience a skip here and there?

Last night, Twice, I had a track sound like it skipped, it's very frustrating due to embarrassment of people turning quick as if they are all saying "what happened". I guess I should assume the MT is still not stable? I had a good run for a couple of months but it's back. I pretty much play these 2 tracks all the time and never had the issue before with them, seems to be very random, sounds as if it just jumps a beat forward as if MT can't correct something its supposed and gets f'd up. so does the problem lie in:

  1. Master Tempo

  2. The track (which i know it's not, all my tracks are clean and error free mp3's)

  3. Buffering between RB on my Mac and the players

I know we will probably never know and the answer will most likely be "if you can reproduce it we can fix" or along those lines but it is VERY random at months apart with different tracks, no easy way to reproduce, only similarity is MT is on and I run through RB LINKED. I wish there would be error logs or some shit that runs on these players so engineers can get the shit together and fix the issues 3 years later, its so god damn frustrating moving my whole library and setup to a RB linked environment but yet I have to worry at all times that a track may skip here and there, If i wanted that I would've just kept my turntables and Serato :)

anyone else hear this? I had the pitch roughly at 2.5-3% from what I can recall knowing what I was mixing from and to.

Pioneer should have NEVER changed the MT algorithm in my opinion from the 1000's, those, Still to this day, were the best sounding and error free

sorry for the rant, just frustrating and embarrassing, and it looks bad on pioneers end when I do all these parties and have these issues and everyone interested in seeing "what happened" notices it's skipping from a Pioneer deck, not good!

I feel your pain BriChi! And I really think with a bit more of good will over here to pass the problems to engineers and these problems would not exist anymore. I just pointed a test anybody can do at home with their equipment (and will try to reinforce with a video) about the 4-beat loop button and how the loops drift (me and some other mates here were talking about the need to fix pitch after setting auto loops - 4 or 8 beats).

I also bought a SSD Enyo USB 3.0 by OCZ (great memory brand) 256 GB to avoid any disk contribution to generate problems. Spent a lot of cash and the cdjs dont seem to deal great with them. I had some problem with it that i never had with MyPassport HD. CDJs linked with direct lan cable and after loading a track to the second one I cant change the track anymore. Its like the selecting button froze and then i have to go back on folder level untill iI reach the directory root and then back to the track place so I can be able to load it again.

In my opinion too many flaws for a 2 years old cdjs! They should be working better right now if all the problems were directed to engineer team. Denying that some problems still exist is the same of making the cjds stuck in time and not improve. If you read some really old posts (some gone now cause of the old forum) you will be able to see that many of the problems corrected on several firmwares were denyed for too long. Our point here is not to talk shit about the players but to contribute making it a better and more perfect tool to all of us.

Oh and sorry for going everywhere with my answer... yes while doing the test with the auto loop feature I noticed a beat skip while watching close the cursor moving on the track spectrum. Didnt notice that on regular playing though but will pay more attention now and give you all the feedback I can.

and then, I just noticed, an update comes out for the 2000's (7/5/12) and it took them 6 months to come out with an update that the engineers probably narrowed down and fixed in a week, and an update for 2 issues I never heard anyone complain about, i don't get it.

I got to admit BriChi that with firm 4.10 the MT is much better than it used to be. But I agree with you, the MT is not perfect yet. Pioneer should work this out. To be honest Pioneer should have done this already. But as you mention in your post above, it took them 6 months to come up with fixes for two issues. I have started to think that maybe cdj2000 is like an experimental player to investigate for future players!

yup, I agree, the MT is definitely improved, but still not perfect :(  If a new deck fixes these issues, then real ease it already so i can buy it and do parties worry free!!

Well I just complained about my SSD problem and now I see theres a new firmware out. Hopefully it will fix the problem but since it wasn't a speed one we will see...

Now seriously! 6 months for working on usb transfer rate and some sort of noise I never heard anybody complaining about!!!!!!!???????

What about the auto loop button problem people have been pointing here for a while!?? So many important things to be taken to a higher level and some fixed and they bring out this??? Souds like a joke!
