CDJ Rookie Questions - Please Answer ASAP

Just recently purchased a set of CDJ-2000s. They are BEAUTIFUL - but I have a few things I'm not sure how to do:

  1. Where do you save cue points / loops for regular CDs and is it the same for regular CDs as it is for burned ones?

  2. How do you delete cue points/loops when using the CDJ?

  3. What exactly does the memory button do?

  4. What brand of hard drive works best for the CDJ 2000s?

Any help / feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much

I'm new to CDJs and I would also like to know the answers to these questions.

  1. if you have a flash drive or sd card plugged in, I believe they save there when using a cd

  2.  If you are talking about the ABC hot starts, you cannot delete them from the player, you can only overwrite them by hitting REC again, you can however delete these in the RB application.

If you are talking about a cue point and loops of which you can set 10 of, then jump to the cue in the song by hitting the > key by memory then hit the delete button, or again, you can just do all this in the RB app

  1. if you set a loop you really like or a cue point in the track you use a lot, once you have the track set the way you want, hit memory to store those so you can call them up easily next time you play it

  2. I personally use Western Digital and they work great

Appreciate the feedback BriChi! here's my problems though: 1. that doesnt seem to be working. 2. thanks 3. i'm assuming you can only set this 10 different cue points in record box? and how do you access all 10 on the CDJ? and again like i said for #1, nothing seems to saving to the flash drive i have, not cues, not loops, nothing..maybe im doing something wrong (and i'll have to read the dreaded manual) 4. thanks

no problem man,

  1. so I just tested with a cd in the player and an usb drive attached (for saving purposes)

when i load track 1, I got to a point I wanted to save 1 of 10 cue points, once i like it and I know I will use it a lot I hit "memory" on the right of the player, that will save that cue point for that song using the usb drive as the storage. Now whenever you load that track, press the < and> CALL buttons to jump through the 10 cues you set

as far as hot starts, A, B and C, it seems like you can record only 1 per disc, so 3 hot starts total, once I set them they immediately re-appeared once I inserted the disc again

  1. yes, you can set 10 cue points in RB, then when you load the track, you use the CALL < and > arrows to jump through them.

The saving to USB with the CD method you described worked :) I'm wondering though, is that 10 cue points for every track? I'm about to try it myself anyway so I suppose I'll find out regardless
