I'm with you on this frustration, but the only thing I can suggest at this time is to copy your Key Field into the Comments field, and view key that way.

CDJ 2000 Nexus: key notation
Hi all,
Today I've picked up 2 CDJ-2000 Nexus to replace my existing CDJ-2000 setup. I have read all the articles on the Pioneer forums about the key detection in Rekordbox 2.0.1 and have not actived it at any time because I let MIK 5 scan all my files. I was baffled when I plugged in my USB harddisk to find all my key notations on the CDJ-2000 Nexus to be in standard keys, not the Camelot keys. I released my USB HDD and plugged it into my PC and viewed the files through Rekordbox. The keys were still in Camelot style... Switched on my old CDJ-2000, and went to the key field: Camelot style. I know that Rekordbox can't detect the keys in Camelot style because it is licensed by Mixed In Key and there are no agreements at this time (hopefully soon) but why do my CDJ-2000 Nexus' show me the standard key notation and not the Camelot notation? This really bugs me as I use MIK to detect the keys and disabled the key detection function in RB. It seems that RB hasn't done anything to my keyfields, so I suspect it to be a setting on the Nexus... Please help me out here.

Hi there, I'm not sure whether my new nexus operate as you describe. I also use MIK and I've reanalysed my tracks so the key field in rekordbox shows the proper note but the MIK notation is still active in the title. When tracks play on the Nexus it shows the proper notation but it doesn't seem to provide any traffic light system it just displays the key.
I fear I'm doing something wrong to be fair but if not it is showing both the MIK and proper key notation.
@Fuse Promote: I have the MIK keys in the comment section, but it sucks that I can't use the category index like I used it before.
@Paulm72: In the track info I can see the MIK key notation, but it's not possible to enter the category index like I was ude to do. Before I could go through the category index for the keys and select for an example 1A, and it would give me a list of all my tracks in that key. Now i see all the regular keys like Am, Bm, stuff like that... And the most annoying thing is that the Nexus hasn't gotten the key info from Rekordbox, but it is using the keyfields labelled by MIK and altering them to the regular key notification... So it is reading 10A and it is displaying B minor in the category index. I assume that this would be a violation of the MIK license as the Nexus can read MIK keys and tells me what this would be as a standard key.
All my files that have been keyed up by MIK remain unchanged in the comments field on the cdj2000 (mk1)...
cant see why the player would alter a plain text field in any way - i assume in RB comments filed you see the Camelot notation, but not on the player?
@Matt Jackson: You are completely right. I have included two pictures to make it more clear. <a href=" [http://tinypic.com?ref=34qsscn](http://tinypic.com?ref=34qsscn)" target="\_blank"><img src=" [http://i46.tinypic.com/34qsscn.jpg](http://i46.tinypic.com/34qsscn.jpg)" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> Here you can see that the when you use category index the notation is in standard key notation. <a href=" [http://tinypic.com?ref=jtt192](http://tinypic.com?ref=jtt192)" target="\_blank"><img src=" [http://i49.tinypic.com/jtt192.jpg](http://i49.tinypic.com/jtt192.jpg)" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> In this one you can see that the key field in the track info is still Camelot style. But I use my category index to do +2 style energized Harmonic mixing. And now it doesn'tt work anymore. And there is no way I can use the comment filed for that because comments aren't allowed as a category.
Can't insert code ;-)

you could copy all the MIK data from the Comment field to an other field (automatically) , where you are allowed to sort as a category??
Don't know if this could help..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSGXXoqWT0M go to 2:10 into the video. You see he has the MIK tags in the comments and he had the comments selected to show up beside the track title. This can be done under the export settings in rekordbox.
They are fine on the CDJ 2000 MK1, issue is only with the nexus, Even without analyzing song keys in RekordBox, when you try to sort by Key, it shows standard key notation. The funny thing, is if you pull up a playlist, and sort by key, it still shows camelot key notation when the key was entered as camelot notation in rekordbox. But if you go to initially sort by key, it shows up as the actual keys, which it shouldn't be doing - it should show as whatever you labelled it as in RekordBox.
I agree this is pretty frustrating. I used browsing by key primarily with camelot notation as my way of browsing. I "upgrade" to the CDJ-2000 and one of the most useful features for me of Recordbox was removed.
Please let us sort by the key notations that we have entered into our own tracks and not the notation you choose to implement because you don't have a license for the other one!
Use this thread for the issue now - Gavin has asked the engineers if it can be implemented

Yup, its been requested.
