[CLOSED] 2000 NEXUS FAULT - USB Hard Disk LOOSING FILES!!! The 2000 MK1 never did that (even in 2009!)

Weird exleriance on the 2000nxs tonight, i used a HD which I use pretty much every night, on my 2000s and have NEVER had an issue with (FAT 32 formatted) - and it worked until the end, then I tried to select a tune and most of my folders appeared empty.

VERY ODD!! The 2000 MK1 never did that, so there must be some glitch with the unit. I didnt use Rekordbox, just straight files from a HD, never had any issues with it before - and was a very odd experiance.

Will need to be addressed and added to the next Firmware update.

@DJccccc > What file type are all the tracks? Did those same files appear in rekordbox when you connect the HD to a computer?

To be honest, ive not even hooked up Rekordbox yet, this is just a FAt 32 SSD 128gb HD, no Rekord Box ... just straight data.

This is why its very odd, ive used the HD 6 times a week with the 2000s Mk1 ... and nover come accross this issue.

They do seem quite buggy.

@DJccccc > What is the make and model of the SSD drive? Does it require external power or is it bus powered?

What did you use to format the partition? What are the file types of the tracks you are using? How many tracks and folders do you have on there? What is the average folder depth?

Fault ... HD seems to crash after 2 to 3 hours of use

The SSD does NOT require external power, they have been used SUCCESSFULLY and with out any errors since 2010 with my CDJ2000, they performed floorlessly, without error or issue on my MK1 CD2000.

Since I have moved to the Nexus, any HD seems to crash after 2 or 3 hours, files are lost, data seems unreadable and I have to reboot the HD for the CDJ to find the info again.

So far this has now happened with THREE SEPARATE UNITS

Kingston SSD 256gb v200 (2012 Model)

Kingston SSD 128gb V+ (2010 Model)

Western Digital 500gb - My passport.

All the drives run fine, then after 3 hours they "loose or cant access certain folders!" - I am running all HDs without Rekordbox - just straight data that i can analysed and make sure there is no MP3 errors. All MP3s are between 192- 320 CBR Stereo with no VBR - i have copied and read exactly what has been advised in this forum regards to the state of my data - and its as good as it can be - so its not my collection which is causing this !!

The HDS have been reformatted again FAT 32 - as recommended. The wierd thing is MY SDXC - 128GB has performed flawlessly without this crashing issue and all I have done is copy the data from the SSD.

My question to you gavin, if it works on the SD (which remember is SDXC 128GB !! FAT 32) - Why is the Nexus stuggling with the HDs

The power output on the USB is 2.1 ... my HDs are 0.5 and 1.0

Again this is not a power issue, something in the firmware seems to be tripping. I have upto 7 or 8 depth folders, but again ... no issues on the MK1 ... and NO ISSUES on the SD CARD ... On the SAME machines ............. that leads me to think there is ANOTHER firmware issue with the way the USB HD Is set up.

If the same drive can read all the data on the SD ... I really cant understand why I have to reset the HD to get all my tunes back !
