I'm having the same issue.  Posted about it a couple weeks ago.  The weird thing is, when I have Rekordbox connected to my setup, the key is there.  If I'm not linked to Rekordbox, no key.

This is driving me nuts.

i would like to know if its possible to do this in CDJ2000mk1 or is it CDJ2000nexus feature.

But if you want, after RB detecting the Key, you can write it manually on track comments or key info. Make sure you enable RB to export the key in USB.

@DreamTreez  I can only get it to work on my mk1s when I have it linked to Rekordbox.  I also got it to work on another set up where I put the USB into a 2000 nexus and it showed up on the mk1.

When I called Pioneer, they seemed pretty confused that it didn't work.

If I understood well you want it to show in cdj2000mk1 in the track "key" info section but you don't have a key section at all. If that is the case you need to enable the rekordbox to export also the key in USB.

If that is the case go to RekordBox --> File --> Preferences --> Export --> Category and check your Active Categories. You need to have KEY in Active Categories, so that when you export your tracks to USB to export the KEY as well.

Look, if you have done the steps above you should be able to see the Key in your track info in cdj2000mk1. In my cdj screen I constantly see the album art work, so I also see Artist, Genre and Comments I think. I need to press again Info in order to see the Key.

I am not in front of my cdjs so later on I will check and come back to you.

ok, after many attempts, finaly i got the key field displayed. what i did was first format the stick, and remove it from the usb port on your pc/laptop. then go start rekordbox, after its started, plug in my usb stick(not before rb started). at this point, RB reference window will popup, with my settings tag being displayed. this is where you need to make sure your setting will apply to your usb stick(what Dream Treez mentioned: active categories, sort, etc.). if you r not sure, uncheck apply settings on devices automatically, choose apply on all devices, then check again apply settings on devices automatically. now you can go export all your well prepared tracks with key info. after its done, plug in usb on cdj, key field will be displayed under info.

Joe L, hope this can be of some help to you
