[SOLVED] CDJ 350 and Traktor (DJM 800)

So if i do the regular routing and stuff in traktor and send each CDJ to it's channel will they work good?

Like are there bugs regarding to Traktor and CDJ350's? (Missing functions whatever)

And do i need any drivers or does the traktor hardware wizard do everything itselves?

@Sammy > Yes, you can setup each CDJ to control an independent channel within Traktor. There are plenty of tutorials around the web - if you get stuck please ask.

Dear Pioneer,

I'm new here. I bought a set of CDJ350's and this weekend I bought Traktor Pro (version 2.6.0) and a brand new Mac mini to go fully digital.

As you can guess, I spent the whole weekend getting this set working, but I didn't succeed.

What I did:

  • downloaded all the software from this site: http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/CDJ-350/page.html

  • upgrading the software of the CDJ350's to version 1.08 (succeeded)

  • installed he MIDI mapping file according tot the manual

  • installed the CDJ aggregator according to the manual

  • the midi channels on the CDJ350's are mapped correctly

  • checked a lot of fora and youtube video's but I didn't came across someone with the same problem

  • checked, checked and double checked,  but I can't control Traktor with my CDJ350's (although the display said ' connect' )

Where did I go wrong? Does it have something to do with the Mac mini?

Looking forward to your respons, my family can't stand me anymore....;-)

Regards,

Melle.

@Pioneer

Just got through all (most) of the issues on this forum regarding cdj350 and Traktor (should have done that before...), and it occurs to me that it could be a problem of the compatibility of the cdj350's with the usb 3.0 ports in the mac mini? Is that problem already been solved? If so, what's the advice?

Thanx!

@jerry at first glance it seems like it works fine but I suspect you will find that that the jog wheels do not function properly in MIDI mode, whether USB 2 OR 3. What I mean is, even if there is an issue with USB 3, the bigger problem is that the jog wheels don't work (consistently) in USB 2 or 3, despite what Gavin or Pulse tell you. (Notice in all threads regarding this issue, their involvement stops as soon as they're asked to prove that it is possible to get both cdj 350s working seamlessly with traktor in midi mode).

@Jerry I didn't receive any reaction or support from Pioneer regarding my issue, which is a bit dissapointing I think, but finally I placed an old fashioned 2.0 usb hub between my Mac mini and the CDJ 350's and now they work ok (jog wheel is reacting a bit slow indeed). Good luck!

@Melle > I've raised a ticket with the engineers to see what they would recommend.

I'm also receiving the exact same problem with Melle... i Just recently brought the latest mac book pro. And been trying to figure out how to set up this stupid software to this dj set.

Cannot count how many times i've been through the manual/slash forums all over google and on here. Nothing seems to work. EXCEPT i got the audio to work through the cdj to the mixer to my speakers. BUT no control over the cdjs.

there is a screen shot of my device set up. Now looking at the youtube videos, forums and pioneer manual. This should be up and running with no mistake.

If anyone on here can help that'll be much appreciated as i wanna run virtual software to this wedding I'm doing next week so it looks more professional etc. as well as future gigs.

Cheers Moses

ps don't look at the song i have put up on traktor. i was just testing it out and that happen to pul up first. haha

but still no response to my cdj and traktor controls.

Fuming here, it must be either the software midi mapping is WHACK or like the other forums are saying usb 3.0???

this should be address out on the pioneer support page as well as on here to notify what is happening because looking at the recent post people are putting up about this mess, it seems like the same problem. Audio but no controls?

Just excuse the frustration I just want to get this up in running.

HELP!!!! arrrrgggh

@Moses > The engineers have advised that they can get better performance (on a MacBook Pro) when they use a USB hub. If you have a USB hub, I advise you to try using it.

@Moses > Any of the reputable brands work fine - Belkin hubs are usually great.
