Hi everyone
So in the middle of my DJ set, I had an absolute nightmare with my decks. I was using two Pioneer CDJ 850s and a Pioneer DJM 350 (Approximately one year old). During the set, every now and then, the mixer would randomly turn off.. It happened maybe two or three times, but I could turn it back on and music would eventually resume. About an hour into the set however, one of my CD decks randomly turned off. There was nothing I could do to turn it back on.. I tried swapping power cables, changing plugs etc but to no avail. The only sign of life was the flashing of a red light next to the 'standby' button. This light would continue to flash even when the power cable wasn't inserted into the deck.. After a while, the light would stop flashing, and when I attempted to turn the deck on, the deck will say "power on" like normal, then after about half a second, it would completely turn off and the flashing light would reappear. I've looked on forums etc, this website explains my problem pretty well, however, I'm an absolute IDIOT when it comes to electronics and I can't understand anything it says.
Has anyone encountered this problem before? Could it be a blown fuse or something similar? I find it weird that my mixer would, a couple of times, turn off and then eventually my deck would turn off. I've played in this venue with this set up a few times now and this is the first time it has happened. An important point that may be related is that I live in the UK, and obviously the plugs are three prong AC power plugs. However, I bought my decks off eBay, and they came with this type of socket, whatever it's called http://i27.tinypic.com/25gb82a.jpg
Does this problem sound familiar? Hoping someone can help me out.
