CDJ 2000 NEXUS. WANT TO GO BACK TO THE MK1!

Hello djs

I just bought the 2000 nexus because unfortunatly my old cdjs 2000 were stolen.

the problem is that i really don't feel confortable with them.. i really liked the cdj 2000..

it's like the nexus wants to make everything by itself. for example the on off quantize botton just makes me lose time or the loop mode botton i have to press it always!it's frustrating. and i don't know why the loops with cdj 2000 were perfect and with the nexus some tracks (with rekordbox 2.02 and firmware 1.06) are totally off.

I thought i liked the waveform BUT it ONLY distracts me from LISTENING and it only makes me watch.it's really useless to me..

Now, i have bought them some days ago so i can still change them, should i go back again to the cdj 2000 or wait for next firmware ?

the only thing that i'm worried about is that the cdj 2000 are old at this time (3 years), and the nexus are the next players. i don't know if downgrade is the right choice for now..

thank you

Federico

Well it seems kinda silly to purchase a product that is obsolete.. I would wait for a f/w update on new gear before i go buy old gear that STILL has its own set of issues. You have just gotten used to working around the issues of the MK1. You just have to do the same with the Nexus.

@Federico > Have you re-analysed your tracks with 2.0.2? The loops are perfectly fine with both versions of the CDJ2000.

I'm not quite sure what you expect from the next firmware. I don't see anything you point out as a bug or a fault but a feature that doesn't appeal to you.

@DJ Pete > What issues are you having with the CDJ2000?

When i want to point a cue i don't understand why i have to disable the quantize. Yes, it helps you matching the beat, but it's really uncofortable to always press it. at least the loops must continue to be quantized. in rekordbox, this doesn't happen.

Also when i exit the loop mode it doesn't make me see the waveform and i have to press it again!

I also don't like the way i have to make a 4 beat. it was easier with the mk1..on nexus keeping pushed the "in" botton a bit bother me.

@ Gavin. I don't have any issues with my CDJ 2000 Nexus players as of yet. I was just commenting on Federico's post. I do Have a question that I am waiting for you to respond back to my in the DJM Mixer portion of the forum. It is concerning the RMX and the DJM Nexus 2000 Post fader. Thanks

@Federico > If you really dislike the Quantize on/off then just leave it off. Quantize wasn't on prior generations of CDJs, its giving additional functionality on the newer players but you certainly don't have to use it.

I've requested that the waveform display appears again after exiting loop mode.
