How to record onto a Camcorder for youtube?

I noticed people mixing and video recording using the DJM setup. It appears there must be a direct line of sorts into the camcorder as I don't hear background noise, it sounds clean but they can also talk before and be heard. Are they hooking up a line to the camcorder from the DJM or through another device from the djm to other device and then into camcorder?

What device is used if not being recorded directly from DJM line to camcorder?

How I do it for my setup like I did in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHM2gjrPolY it's a series I'm starting for every sort of DJ, beginners, advanced users, and mobile DJs. Unfortunately it's been kinda difficult to make new vids since both my players had their jog displays stop working... anyways.

record out of USB or line out into a computer program like audacity to get the high quality mix audio

Record voice directly from the camera's microphone or another external mic.

Combine the two in a video editor (I use Adobe Premiere) and cut out the camera audio when you just want your set and BAM! Have fun, videos are great fun to make.

If you plug your gear into your computer. (mic jack) You can record right into Youtube with an HD external cam. And youtube will do the rest for you. You can select your cam and your audio. It's very easy. Thats only for a 15 min mix. Anything longer you will need to use a cam or some sort of program like wirecast to record your set. then you can upload it. You should come out of your booth jacks on your mixer to your computer so you can control the volume. you dont want the youtube volume pegged. You want to still see some movement.

@Chris > Good luck with your videos but I would advise you to be careful about how you use different manufacturer logos.

@Justin > When I record, I adopt the same process as Christian. I record into a Zoom H4N and on a Canon 7D. Then I merge the audio with the video in Adobe Premiere. (This is mostly because the 7D has an auto-gain function which isn't 100% optimal for audio recording).

What does or how does Pioneer record their videos? Is there a camera that allows you to plug from mixer into a camera? I'm just curious.

@ Gavin, lol. I see what you mean. I did think Chris was part of Pioneer at first when I saw his video the first time. He did do a great job however and I think it benifits Pioneer either way.

Justin, Have a look at my video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixJc34sWhO4

Video quality on this one is not to good but the sound is perfect.

I record with a Kodak HD cam and record the audio via usb from the mixer into my MacBook Pro using Audacity.

I then just mute the sound from the video and tie it up with the recorded sound using iMovie.

The same principle can be done via Windows, just use different video editing if need be.

Hope this helps mate,

Kenfold.

@Justin > Beneficial or not, it could be misconstrued as misrepresentation. This is only some friendly advice about using any company's logo - I'm not trying to be an ass about it.
