[SOLVED] CDJ 2000 NXS loop issue
Hey guys im having a really big issue with my pair of NXS players and im wondering if anybody else is experiencing this or is it just me?
Ive had this issue with usb stick , wireless link from phone and computer so im pretty sure it isn't a source issue. It happens with older rekord box files of my friends when they vist and it happens to me with tracks analyzed by the newest version of rekordbox.
Here is the issue:
On certain songs for no particular reason ill start a loop and hit the in button, then after waiting 8,16,32 even 64 beats and hitting the out button the player starts a 16th note loop/roll from the input and it absolutely destroys any mix you may have. As it is I dont trust NXS players when playing live and sadly feel forced to use old gear due to reliability. i really want to use the new NXS and not have a major errors like this happen.
Is this an issue others are having or are my players faulty?
Thanks for your time

The ones from the screen work fine but I can't always use that some times I want to do it on the fly for added creativity
@WestCoastFurth > What version of the firmware are you on? And are you using rekordbox 2.0.3?
If you could reproduce the problem with a track, then re-analyse it with 2.0.3 and try it again that would be a big help in identifying if there is a problem.
I am running current versions of both, and sometimes a track does it other times it does not, I've been so fed up with this BS I even spoke in the phone with a pioneer rep and he assured me they never herd if this issue and are positive it's my players, luckily the GC guys here Rock and took um back and swaped me a new set. I head to the local club where I'm playing tonight to rest there nexus and I can't replicate the problem for the life of me, I'm thinking sweet got this issue fixed new decks should be fine right?
Guess again....
Literraly ten-twenty minutes into the new test at home with my new nexus and it happens doesn't happen on my other deck yet just one but we got it to replicate the issue twice after like 100 tries and I got it on video ill post later
The tracks that donut donor condistantly do it so I can say forsure witch tracks are a problem , also trying to replicate the issue with the same track on a different deck and we couldn't get it to happen :-/
Please help! Atm this 4000$ set of players are essentially useless because I can't trust them not to f up
I had the same issue happen to me last night. I don't own CDJ-2000s but was playing at a club that has four Nexus's linked. All my tracks have been analyzed by rekordbox 1.5.3 or earlier. Didn't check the firmware version but I'd be surprised if they didn't have them updated to the newest firmware.
I hit the loop-out button and got what sounded like a 32nd note or 16th note roll. In my case I never hit loop-in, i had just started from the beginning of the track (auto-cue on) and hit loop-out at some point (probably 16 or 32 bars later) assuming it would jump back to the original cue point I had started with. Luckily for me this was on the track I was cueing up, not the one playing live, but it was disconcerting to say the least. Sync was off by the way. Here was the full setup:
4 CDJ-2000 Nexus, 1 DJM 900 Nexus, all 5 linked. No computer linked.
SD card in player #4, USB stick in player #1. Active playing track on player #3, the track that exhibited the loop issue was on player #2.
I experienced some other weird issues as well, will start a separate thread for those.
Quantize was also on, btw. Perhaps the issue is that the initial auto-cue point didn't line up with the beat grid? That's all I can think of, but that still shouldn't happen that way. On the CDJ 2000 non-nexus, if you hit loop-out when your initial cue point isn't quite on the grid you get a end-loop point that's right on the beat grid and a beginning-loop point that's slightly off, which can require some minor adjustments but nothing crazy like this issue...
I have this issue as well, most of the time with 4 bars. :-(
Oops... I meant 8 bars
I've had one or two reports elsewhere about this - I'm creating a ticket about it to be investigated.
Gavin, this happens to me too and I caught it on video if the engineers want to take a look, The first time the deck just stopped when I hit "OUT" then the next time it sounds like the 1/16th loop, so far I have only had this happen when quantize was enabled
at 0:11 you can see when I hit out, the decks stopped
at 0:46 I hit out and it's having a panic attack :)
hope that helps
of course the video link would be a good start in the helping process, lol
They know what it is and know what is causing it. It'll be fixed in the next release.
awesome, can you confirm that if it is only happening with quantize "on"? this way we at least know to leave it off for now if we want to use the feature of looping trouble free
Thank goodness Finnaly some others Have spoken up and have had this issue! Also thank goodness the pionerds are gunna fix itc
Thanks Gavin! As annoying as it is when bugs like these appear when we're so used to rock-solid products, Pioneer customer support has been excellent at fixing things as fast as possible and I'll always be a loyal user.
I think it's important to remember that the rock solid CDJ2000 we are used to actually had to get to version 4.02 to get where it is now. We're only on the second revision of the Nexus. In any case, I also caught this loop error on camera while I was recording a mix. Honestly the first time I did this, I thought it was some weird 1/16 roll feature that I didn't know about. Then I caught it on camera! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rBdRT7kZzM
Thank you all for your comments - as 1.10 is now available, this issue has been resolved.
