Folgen[SOLVED] Night Club Scenario questions (Using Traktor on a Serato Setup)
Let's say I walk in the club and they have two CDJ 2000/900s I use Tracktor but their booth is set to Serato (Usually with a DM 900/800/850). I know the 900s are TSP so I may catch a break there (I assume all I have to do is set to DVS mode on the mixer). But, let's say they have only a Serato Box available? I saw there was some way to use the sound card in the CDjs (aggregated or something). What would be the best way to work this out? Should I just bring a Traktor Box or what?

If you use tracktor or any other lapjockey program you should take everything you need with you, all necessary leads, soundcard etc etc. you can't expect the venue to accomodate all the lapjockeys and their various connections .....
Hi Torch,
all you need to play with Traktor in a club equipped with cdj2000/900 is your laptop with Traktor (2.5 or later, better 2.6 if the cdj is nexus) installed and two usb cables to connect the two cdjs to the laptop. The cdjs have their own audio interface integrated inside and will send commands to Traktor with the HID interface. You can control most of Traktor's functions directly from the cdjs and forget to touch the laptop for a couple of hours :) You may still want to look at the laptop screen to see the waveform and have a better overview when picking the tracks from your playlists, but all the play, cue, loop, beatmatching and so on goes via cdj.
A club setup for Serato might have a Rane audio interface in the booth but that would not matter if you use traktor because you'd connect your audio directly to the cdj and don't need the timecode cds.
Here on this forum or on traktor's forum you can find the setup instructions. It's pretty easy and straightforward.
Cheers

Right on Julia,
Thanks :-)
Here is the link to the Traktor HID video for Traktor.. It will take all of about 5 sec to get it all set up... Traktor does the work for you.
@Torch > Are you happy that this is resolved? I would recommend you test it out first and not try it live, just to get used to it.
