CDJ-2000 / CDJ-2000NXS
Do the math - 4700mb / ~80mb per song = 58 songs per disc
Data
No, rekordbox data only works on USB/SD cards
Probably
I am still playing CD''s on various CDJ's in clubs from 1000mk3 to latest CDJ-900 and 2000 / 2000 Nexus.
I havent stepped up to full USB mixing yet with a thumb drive but I thought I would have a go at DVD burning to take to gigs.
Can you tell me the following before I attempt this :
1, Which of all the CDJ's can play from DVD? I would be burning WAVs to play? I have come across 1000mk2 and 1000mk3 would these work?
Approx how many aiff / WAVs can you get on a 4.7Gb DVD?
Do i burn these in toast as DATA as I dont believe DVD's do audio direct?
Can I use RekordBox at all with DVD as its data? so its shows up on say a CDJ2000 deck?
Can I use 4.7Gb DVD's or does 8.5Gb Discs work too?
Thanks for any help as I dont have any Pioneer equipment to test this on before I go to a gig..

Nate is spot on with his answers but I don't think 8.5GB discs are supported - I'd have to check the manual.
Really though, I'd just invest in some USB sticks. You'll save yourself a ton of angst rather than going through the whole process of burning DVDs.
i would Gavin, but its the same angst again if i turn up to a club with CDJ1000's - so i need cd's as a back up
We seem to eb in a crossover period - if only every club had CDJ2000's then i'd do it like a shot..
So why not just make CDs that you can use on all the players rather than creating DVDs?
I'm not trying to argue with you - I just want to help you attain the best workflow...
Obviously, whatever works for you is best and you should go with what you are more comfortable with - if I was you, however, I'd create playlists in rekordbox, burn the playlists to CDs for when you need to use CDJ1000s and export playlists to USB for when you need to use CDJ2000s (or other USB compatible players).
Thats a great idea Gavin, and one i'll look into.. yes i just suggesting that its a shame every cd player doesnt take a USB stick or else i'd be totally USB now :)
So can i burn directly from RekordBox and its the same as a normal cd burn, ie: the only thing i'd really like to see from RekordBox > CDr is the marker system, so that you could see a marker on the CDJ display on an optimal mix out section etc.
I am not too bothered about BPM grids and folders etc at this moment..
rekordbox itself doesn't provide the ability to burn but you can use an external program to handle that for you (Nero etc). Unfortunately, rekordbox does not provide the ability to tag any information to CDs.
