I would have to assume you still need a flash drive or SD card in for the data to be stored even though you are playing cd's, Same as if you wanted to set cues from a cd, you need a drive plugged in for storage
Thanks for letting me respond! ... Yes I am using a thumb drive that also stores the wave form but does not store the mark of tracks played, now I try with an sd card and place the result in 5 minutes!

You need media that is writeable, to be able to mark the data. CDs cannot be written to by the CDJ. I would recommend you use USB or SD cards, preparing your tracks in rekordbox.
