So how do I get only the UPD file? Is it something particular I need to do?
I'm flabbergasted with my CDJ Nexus units!!!! It's been almost a month since I used/practiced on my CDJ's. After a month of carefully beat gridding all of my tracks on rekordbox, beat gridding each start point, setting loops, and cue points, my CDJ Nexus is still performing poorly. I read somewhere that these problems exist do to (more than likely) user error. I honestly don't know what else to do. Below I'll list a couple of things that keep hampering me from using my CDJ in a public setting;
biggest issue
__CDJ's are pausing for a second before playing when I try to scratch in a beat or use the sync function. For example, I have deck b playing a track, and then I try to scratch in deck A,(or vice-verse) when I scratch in the beat, or word, I get a quick pause and then it skips into an off beat rhythm.
__ Also, on my CDJ's, when I go into a loop by pressing say a 4 bar loop and then tap the 8 bar loop, it skips up to an 8 bar loop off rhythm. It is not smooth like for example when I do this on the rekordbox software. I want to be able to go into say a for bar loop and the stretch into a 8, 16, or 32 bar loop with no obvious jump.
__lastly, my Master button jumps from deck A to deck B. I want to be able to control one side (only) for a master deck. I have to manually press the master button with each track, and EVEN then, as soon as I get ready to play a track or scratch a track in the master light button goes out on my main deck.
These are 3 majors issues that I can't afford to have. Am I doing something wrong? All my firmware is up to day. Is it possible I have a bad pair of Nexus Players? Can ANYONE offer some advice to why these issues are occurring? I'm not to tech savvy, so I REALLY need some help on this matter.
Please help

So how do I get only the UPD file? Is it something particular I need to do?
@6Sixx > You download this .zip file. http://pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?c=1467&lang=en&p=CDJ-2000NXS&t=178
Then, when you've that downloaded to your computer, you double click the file (on Mac) or right click and choose Extract (on Windows). The .zip file will turn into a normal folder. Inside this folder is the .UPD file. You then place this .UPD file on the root of a USB stick. There should be absolutely nothing else on the USB drive.
Ok, so all I have to do is double click the file. I did that but I can't get it to look like the picture that BriChi showed. When I double click the folder nothing opens? So basically what I'm doing wrong is dragging the entire file in the USB, correct?
6Sixx, I might suggest to do the following:
delete everything that you downloaded and unzipped
download again the firmware zip file from the link above suggested by Gavin
double click the zip to extract the C2KNXS.UPD file,
copy that .UPD file (with exactly that name) into an empty USB stick that was formatted with FAT32 (not with Mac file system)
remove the USB stick correctly from the Mac using the eject function from the right click menu
follow the update instructions that you find on the pioneer support page (basically switch off the cdj, unplug SD, remove CD, unplug network cable, and start the CDJ pushing the two buttons USB and loop exit - check pioneer's instruction first! I' not sure these are the correct buttons...I have done it yesterday night but I tend to forget very quickly LOL)
follow the instructions on the screen of the CDJ, it will do everything automatically and prompt you to reboot the cdj at the end.
switch off the CDJ and repeat on the second CDJ
switch off the second CDJ, remove the usb stick and connect the both cdj again with the netweork cable, now you're ready to go. When you reboot the cdjs you should see that 1.13 is written in the corner of the cdj screen
@6Sixx > Did you get this working?
@ Gavin, No not yet, I am on vacation and will try what others have suggested when I return, THANX for asking:-)
@ Julio, Brichi, MouseAT, Than you all.
@6Sixx > Ok, please update us once you get back so I can mark this issue as resolved.
Ok, this is how my usb stick looks when I open it up. Is this how it should look? If so, why am I not able to update my CDJ Nexus? Do I need to change anything. I don't understand why this is not performing.
no, take out the 2 at the end, It should read C2KNXS.UPD yours reads C2KNXS*2*.UPD thats why it wont work
YAY, I am NOW updated:-) Thanx for all the help from the PIONEER FAMILY. Just curious though, why there is no mention to do this in the instructions? It would of save me of many headaches....LOL! I will report back on how the new update firmware is performing soon.
DJ 6Sixx!
Thank. Christ.
Just kidding 6Sixx, glad you got it sorted ;)
LOL @Gavin
Glad you got it sorted! the only reason the 2 would have been there was if you had another update in your download folder, it would automatically add a number to avoid overwriting the existing
LOL, next beer is on me GUYS, that is, if you all are ever in DETROIT:-) BTW, I did a 40 minute practice set with the new update and everything went pretty smooth. Again, thank-you all for guiding me through this process. I feel so much better now...LOL!
@6Sixx > Great news, thanks for reporting back. I usually pass through DTW around once a year so next time I do, beers are on you ;)
