[SOLVED] Just got a used cdj 850K makes noise on the platter..supposed to?

I just bought a used (nice) 850k from my retailer but it was packaged very poorly when it was shipped so when I got it I noticed that when I back spin the platter it sounds like a ball bearing is spinning freely underneath even after the motion of the platter has stopped. Is this normal?

I owned an old pair of the 1000's and I dont remember this being this way. Should I send it back or do they all have that sound now?

@Lawrence > If you are worried about the quality of the CDJ and how it was delivered then send it back - its a little difficult for us to judge without being able to test the equipment for ourselves.

Is it functioning as normal / as it should? It is normal that there is some noise from the jog.

I got it at a fairly decent price so I kind of want to keep it I guess..

It does function nicely over all and cosmetically is nearly flawless.

I would assume a ball bearing spinning around on the inside would not be normal especially after the platter has stopped spining right?

Also my traktor midi mapping 'play head marker' jumps all over the place when cuing up a track or some beats or when scratching a snare etc.

Is there a way to calibrate the job wheel in the mapping? I asume that would be a midi issue and not really a hardware issue becasue it plays normal cd's geat ..

what would be your first assumptions? I realize you can not diagnose it with out seeing it in action.

@lawrence > For your own piece of mind, I would send it back as you're not happy with it. It may be fine but then you could be a few weeks done the road and it breaks, then you've zero comeback with the retailer.
