Folgen[OPEN] ADVICE PLEASE: Linking Up CDJ2000s via Ethernet Switch (Pro DJ Link)
My first post on these forums (hi). I'm hoping one of you bright folk on here will be able to help me out.
I've just bought a brand new CDJ-2000 Nexus (x2) + DJM-900 Nexus set up. I want to link them all up using Pro DJ Link but am having some trouble getting it all to work.
I've brought a Netgear GS105 gigabit switch to do the linking. However, when I put ethernet cables from both CDJs and the mixer into the switch and then try to 'link' the second CDJ.... *nothing*.
If I link them up directly, everything works OK, so I'm assuming i'm doing something wrong with the ethernet switch. I've attached a picture of how i've got the cables hooked up to the switch.
I do want to use the switch as (i) I may well be looking to play off a laptop set up and (ii) I'm thinking of getting a third CDJ for my setup.
Does anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong? Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. I'm going slightly insane trying to work out what i'm doing wrong.
Cheers :-)

also try rebooting everything, every once in a while my linked deck doesn't show my usb from deck 1 either but after I reboot it all it pops right up
Thanks guys. But neither of these suggestions seem to work.
David, maybe the players are booth set on the same link channel. That means you have to set it manually from the cdj menu. Did you get some message on the cdj which wont connect? Also, did you try out every port-combination on that switch? It doesn't matter how you connect them. Is this happen on the same cdj every time ?
Hi Tasos,
My CDJs are set to player 1 and player 2 (the player setting function on the CDJ is set to 'auto'). If I look in the utility menu of both CDJs, it says that the link status is "connected". However, if I hold down the LINK function to get the link status, it comes up with "no connection". I haven't managed to properly link them with the switch once yet; i've only got it to work properly when connecting them directly (which says to me there isn't anything wrong with my USB fob or anything like that).
Am properly stumped!
I'll try out every port combination tonight, though I don't think this should make any difference(?)...
I use the same switch (but the 100mBit model), you can have them connected to any port - but what's important is to have the players numbered the same as where their audio is connected. What you should do is manually assign player numbers to each CDJ. You'll have to disconnect the ethernet and any devices to unlock the player assignment mode. Once you've got them assigned, try opening and closing a fader on the DJM; you should see the corresponding deck's on-air status change (the jog will change from white to red if you have it enabled).
Connect a USB drive and your player should recognize it, pressing LINK on the other player should show the first player and its USB device.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Managed to get things working. Manually numbering the CDJs didn't make any difference. I powered the switch off and on and that did the trick. I'd only powered down the CDJs and the mixer previously.
