Buy or Not to Buy? Seeing many issues

Hello, I've done both CDJs (low end, crappy) and software (traktor) and I'm looking at going back to CDJs but it seems like a lot of people are having technical issues with the 2000nxs'. Is it really that big of a deal and should I go ahead and buy a pair or should I continue sticking with traktor for now?

I have no issues, I have had them since release, they started out buggy but a few FW updates ironed out the issues. Which issues are you seeing?

Sorry if the title was misleading. I wasn't seeing any issues myself since I don't even own a pair, but there are a lot of threads talking about display issues, freezing, lag/latency, etc. so I wasn't sure if I should buy it or not.

also maybe consider the new XDJ-1000 if CD drives are not important to you, it has most of the 2000 features in it

I own a pair of mk1's, and have played out many times on nexus decks with no bad personal experiences and no observed issues with others playing on them. The only thing I would recommend is to never play VBR MP3s on them (or anywhere on anything professionally) and stick with CBR 320kbps if you must play MP3 at all.

I agree pope, VBR files are just dangerous on CDJ's

really? can you explain how? what's the difference between VBR and CBR? I buy all my music so what type of mp3 would that make it?

VBR means variable bit rate so the players have to work harder adjusting itself based on 96k, 128, 256, 320 and so on all through a 3 minute track when as CBR is a constant 320 (if thats how it was ripped) bitrate making the player work less.

Whenever i use VBR i see lockups on the player with completely freeze in the middle of a track or when I try and needle strip search it takes a lot longer to play again vs a CBR mp3

Not sure where you are in the world but renting a pair is not that expensive.  I always suggest to people to rent and try for a week or two.

Keep in mind to check the versions if you rent and update firmware accordingly.
