[SOLVED] new update in rekordbox app for xdj aero

Hey everyone,

I've just had a mess around on my aero this afternoon and notice that you can now view the waveform on the app.

There is no progress bar so you can't see where you are up to but its still a nice touch. You can only view one waveform at a time too but hopefully in future updates both will be viewable and a progress bar added.

would probably be great if they release an iPad app for this, you have more room to work with

Doesn't the rekordbox app work on the iPad brichi?

It works fine on my nexus 7.

They have the iPhone app which you can use on the iPad but all it does is magnify the small app on a bigger screen and looks horrible, if they actually made an app for the 10" screen using the correct resolution, you can fit a lot more and make it look more clear

Oh wow - that's a nice addition and cheers for sharing.

I'd updated to the latest iphone app a few days back but hadn't noticed this. Could I ask how you go about viewing the waveform ?

I was playing on my AERO over the weekend and finding all sorts of nice touches I hadn't noticed before (such as a starting a track by pushing the loop encoder - it gets the track into a loop straight away), and also hitting the sync putton for a second then turning it off and it just quickly puts your bpm at the same as the master track playing so you don't have to use the pitch slider to get there. Then the bpm stays after turning it off and I can just fine tune the beat match by ear with the platter. Great for when I'm mixing tracks very quickly.

Hi Jane,

When you click on a track in the app the waveform comes up in the load screen at the top.

You then load that track into deck A or B and the screen then goes back to your playlist or track list. On the list it has a 1 and 2 representing which track is on what deck and if you press one of them it then shows the load screen again with the waveform to view. Its a great little addition I think. There is no progress bar but you can hear where the drops in the track are anyway.

I use the sync button to tempo lock the tracks too and nudge the platter when needed. Its something I didn't think I would use when I bought the unit as I was a bit anti sync having come from cdj 1000s,  but its great to get a mix in quickly like you say.

I bought the into the day it came out and a nearly a year down the line couldn't be happier with it!!

Those functions have always been there :) I like the way we all use the sync to lock the tracks quickly and mix after...

But what is the point of the dodgy waveform?  Cos it doesn't actually provide any info.

@paulo1976, same feelings here, bro. I've posted a request here (http://forums.pioneerdj.com/entries/24919991-New-rekordbox-mobile-version-the-waveform-at-the-load-screen), for something more simple, so I bet Pioneer would be able to develop it as soon as possible.

I would invite you guys to hit the Useful/Like button from both posts if you really want some progress over this, as I think this way Pioneer can give more priority for these subjects...

Thanks so very much Paulo - tried it last night and great to see that there (am still learning lots about the AERO as I get to know it more - great unit). Have to say I def agree with everyone too, if they get around to showing a progress bar on there would be a nice little extra (and would surely help with sales?)

I guess if the waveform's already there, and the two devices are in constant contact anyway with streaming, it'd just be an addition math/display function code to show a percentage line underneath with the iphone/android doing the number crunching so not so much a drain on the AERO's resources (this is all just guess work so sorry if its way more complex) - but that'd be great to have if it's possible.
