Linking XDR-RX to Macbook Pro (LAN)

Hi All, I am struggling to get my XDJ - RX to recognise that my macbook pro 2015 is connected via LAN cable. I am using a usb-LAN adapter as the macbook pro 2015 doesn't have a LAN port, could this be the problem?

Am I right in thinking that when I hit the rekordbox button on the XDJ-RX my songs should show up from the macbook.
