rekordbox dj - recording clipping

I have been recording some mixes on my DDJ-SR + Rekordbox DJ

I managed to get it recording, and even though I have turned the gain nob on the recording section down as low as it will go, and my channels are not clipping at all, the waveform that gets recorded is completely flat, like it is clipped.

How do I make a normal looking waveform (nice peaks and valleys) that doesn't sound like it is clipping even though I am not mixing like that.

I would plug my master to a USB line in but I only have one USB port and USB hubs and the DDJ-SR don't play nice; my jog wheels go all funky when I try that.

Thanks

Only way I get a good recording with DDJ-SR is when I set:

- Lower the master Level for recording all the way down

- Set Trim levels to 10 o'clock

Just noticed this too. Is this specific to the SR? And is this just affecting internal recording or is the master output clipped as well?

FYI I updated the firmware on the SR to 1.08 and I think that seems to have fixed it...
