4.0.6 Feedback

Thanks for the new version.  Some feedback- . The slip mode bug I found in earlier versions is finally fixed. At least I couldn't reproduce it with the hour or so I spent with RB. Great!

The midi mapping is welcomed feature, but has a very basic interface. The major annoyane is that a lot of options are not listed in there for some reason. Luckily I was able to edit the rekordbox.app package and modify the CSV file for the DDJ-RZ. Basically I removed two of the existing keymaps and now my controller works almost like it should! I can preview by pressing SHIFT-track browse button.  To skip ahead, I'd love to use SHIFT+Turn browse button, which produces as midi message, but for some reason only works when I twist the wheel to the left.  As awkward as that is, it's better than nothing.  If I can somehow figure how how to make it skip forwards but twisting right I'd be a happy camper.

Last, thanks for adding the missing Preview from Related Tracks that I had found in the earlier version. While I'm glad it's now working, I'm sad to say that it doesn't respond to the midi message for preview.  If I map my existing controller (or any random controller) to Preview, and then have a track in "Related Tracks" highlighted, the preview function doesn't work on that.  It requires a key press.  So while this bug is fixed, its not completely fix. Please add the option to preview the related track via MIDI.  Should be a quick and easy fix for this oversight!

 More feedback to follow..

Tabbing from Label to Genre still doesn't work when entering data into a newly imported track.

@Harry > You can't use the shift+browse knob because that is a knob and the MIDI signal the PREVIEW SKIP function is looking for is a button, so it will only work when a certain MIDI value is received (which happens to occur when the knob is rotated counter-clockwise).

There are plenty of things that could be added to the MIDI functions, I'm not sure if we'll see them all added, but I don't currently see the related-track-preview item as a bug (rather than a function not included).

@Smurf > It works here for me on a Mac, which OS are you using?

Also, the reason autofill exists is to rapidly enter a common genre name. If you don't want to use the suggested genre, simply hit the backspace key once and it will escape that autofill function (unless, of course, you type more letters which would lead to further autofill suggestions).

@cpoynter > I'm trying to figure that out myself -- the signal given is 9042 yet even when unassigned from the tag function and deleted from the CSV it still says it's assigned, so I'm sure it's possibly reading my default file in the package.

@Pulse I'm on Windows 7 64-bit

The autofill on Artist & Album is the most annoying.

For example, in the artist file, if I enter DJ and pause, it autofills DJ 8088 all the time. when I press <DEL> to delete 8088, it refills it again, with 8088. Very very annoying !!

Thanks

@Smurf > Ah, I see the problem with the auto fill in the artist field vs. the genre; in the genre it automatically selects all the text to the right of the cursor, so when you hit backspace or delete, it removes it whereas with the artist, it autofills beyond the cursor but isn't selected. That's a nuisance I'll pass along to the engineers ... but I won't suggest removal of the auto fill function as I do find that handy when editing fields.
