If you don't scratch a lot, what about CDJ mode. If you do, then you have to stay in Vinyl and not hit the platter on pitch bends.
hello, I used to have a ddj sr where there was a dedicated button to see whether you were in vinyl mode or not. I upgraded to a ddj sx2, but I was surprised to see that the vinyl mode can only be activated by pressing shift + slip. By consequence, you need to press the shift button to see whether vinyl mode is active or not. This is very annoying and potentially dangerous! (if you want to bend and you end up scratching you look lik an idiot). Is there any workaround for this, eg via midimapping, so that the controller somehow indicates (via pad lights or something else) that you're in vinyl mode?
It's kind of hard to understand that a cheaper model like the sr has this function for free whereas the sx2 doesn't have it...
I've asked this very same question on the Serato forum and this was their answer:
Unfortunately that was the way it was designed and manufactured by Pioneer. I don't believe there is a way to get it MIDI Mapped to the top layer.
Might be worth having a talk to Pioneer to see if they can alter this through a Firmware update as we have no control over that.
thx for your help!
regards
Kenny
