Any idea when midi mapping for pitch bend or job wheel will come into effect??

It seems really strange that there is no midi mapping for either pitch bend (which you can do on your laptop keyboard - but is bloody annoying if ya trying to use a controller as well, isn't the idea of a controller so you don't need to be pushing buttons on your laptop) - or for the jog wheel!  Surely for a lot of people this is a basic function?!  Or does everyone just use the sync button these days?

I really like what Pioneer have done with Rekordbox.  I generally use CDJ2000s in most places I play, but thought about buying a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 controller to play at house parties or smaller places where there are no CDJs.  I borrowed a DDJ Ergo from a friend to try out the midi mapping, and all was great until I wanted to try and jog a track forward or backwards (jog wheel or even pitch bend). I read on other threads that it's not possible yet!  The controller is basically not much more than a mixer without this function.

So, does anyone have any idea of when this might be included on the midi mapping? Many thanks :-)

It may be like Serato where it never happens -- only Pioneer products will be able to control the software. I know there are some other Pioneer products coming into the fold in the next update, but you'll have to wait to see which ones.

OK, thanks for your reply Pulse. Any idea on when the next update may be?

The thing is I want to use a Pioneer controller with it, but if I can't actually control the mixing part, then maybe buying Serato to go with a Pioneer DDJ-SB2 or Ergo (or another brand controller if I can't use Rekordbox anyway) might be the only way to go. As there's no point in spending so much money on the more expensive controllers (the ones already conpatible with Rekordbox) when I will only use it every once in a while.  Very annoying, I actually want to stay with Pioneer as I use Rekordbox for sorting all my music for when I play out on CDJs, but if they don't have any cheaper controllers that work with Rekordbox I may not have any choice!  I tried my best Pioneer!!

Ideally jog control midi mapping would be supported, but at the least you would think pitch bend would be supported like it is on the laptop keyboard.

Sorry, not meaning to rant, but just a little frustrated.  I was actually warming to the idea of playing from a controller and my laptop once in a while...Am sure in the future everything will be fine (cheaper Rekordbox ready controllers and/or a way of mapping some control over mixing on other Pioneer Controllers), but that doesn't help now.

I know when, but we're not to disclose release dates. All I can say is "soon."

Wanted to switch from Serato DJ to rekordbox DJ since i use CDJs when i perform at clubs, and I already have all my playlists organized on rekordbox. As convenient as it would be for me to make the switch, the MIDI mapping in RBDJ leaves something to be desired. The fact that I can't manipulate the pitch bend with my controller is extremely limiting for me. The only solution i've found is to use my laptop's keyboard, but that kind of defeats the purpose.

I'm curious, is there any alternative to mapping the jog wheels/pitch bend so we can actually beat match?? I don't use quantize or sync at all.

and to comment on your earlier post, Serato DJ does actually allow you to manipulate the pitch bend '+' and '-' if you map it to buttons on a controller.

@Ricardo > Currently, only Pioneer DJ controllers are capable of manipulating the jog functions. This is identical to how Serato functions, and it thus restricts the usage to approved hardware for the primary controls.
