Ran into a bit of an issue last night with CDJ 2000s.
Had them connected in HID mode in Traktor and also set up as an aggregate sound device on my macbook.
DJ playing back to back with me was using a USB drive and the following DJ was using Serato CDs.
Everything was connected fine, but for whatever reason, the CDJs would NOT switch off of control mode and release the soundcards.
We tried everything. Plugged the USB drive into deck A, pressed the USB button and nothing showed up. Interestingly, all the tracks on the drive showed up on the linked B deck and vice versa. If we plugged the drive into deck B, we could get it to show up on deck A.
Anyway, trying to load tracks from the USB drive to play wouldn't work. The tracks/directory were there but pressing the knob brought up an error message for a fraction of a second (too quick to read) and the track wouldnt load in the CDJ, and the CDJ still had audio/control from Traktor.
Same thing when trying to switch over to disc mode. Luckily was able to set a roll loop on the mixer and restart the CDJs to release control.
Is something wrong or am I just misunderstanding the way this works when using the CDJs as soundcards?

i use the same constellation nearly every weekend, switching from Traktor hid to rb usb to cd etc and back. no problems at all... are you sure the players are on the latest firmware? on older fws there where problems regarding that (long time ago).
pretty sure the firmware is up to date. in your setup, you definitely used the cdjs as sound cards?
yes, always using the internal soundcards of the cdjs hooked via spdif to the djm 900nxs
only using 2usb ports :-)
weird, I'll have to try it out again and check firmware version. unfortunately don't have my own pair, just use the club's equipment.
have to mention that i'm using windows, maybe it's a osx issue (if you're using osx)?
that could be a possibility as well because I remember it working correctly at one time, and I think it was when I was using a Windows laptop
