Which mixer are you referring to?
Hello! Been reading the manual and this forum and trying to google. Why is the master outputs volume so much lower than than the invidual channels volumes? The volume coming out my speakers is as loud and clear as it was with my old mixer (an A&H). But when I monitor the master output via my headphones, the volume is considerably lower than when monitoring the invidual channel cues. Is that actually a feature and can I do something about it? Been bugging me since I bought this mixer!
Cheers, Ex0rz

Oh sorry i thought i mentioned it. DJM-750.
The DJM-750 definitely has a "cooler" output than some of our other mixers, but there may be something else we can try to solve this. Please check the Master Attenuator level in the settings menu to ensure it as at 0db. You can find instructions on how to do this on page 21 of the owner's manual, which can be found here.
Yeah its @ 0db. I went through the settings yesterday. It was all on the default values. I tried to change the digital master out level (DOUT LV) to -5 db, but now Im actually not sure if i restarted the mixer after applying the setting. Didn't seem to have any effect. I must try it again and make sure i restart the mixer after applying that setting. But I dont think that will change anything. The problem is that the master levels seem to hit @ -24 to -19 etc. But yet the sound coming out of my speakers is equivalent to around a 0db signal. It only sounds like -19 -24db when monitorin the master via headphones. If its a feature then its a fairly strange feature. Shouldnt by all logic the master levels show about the same as the invidual channel levels and not like 20db less?
Headphone volume is also directly linked to each channels trim feature if you set the trim really low the output on the headphones will also be low. Not sure if that might solve your issue or not or if you've already tried raising your trim and lowering your main just slightly.
Thanks for the reply but its the low master volume when you monitor the master via headphones. I need to check the mixer settings and change the max master volume to -5db or so. Maybe its limited by default to -20 or so.
