NXS2 Save/Load Settings

When I save my setting from the CDJ menu it says "Saved to USB/SD", however I do not have any of these in my player so are the settings saved to the player internally or in rekordbox?

Also, why can't these settings be automatically loaded to the players when connected via Link?
Instead I have to first load a track before I can choose "Load Settings".
