DDJ-SZ hardware controlling Rekordbox DJ Software

I am having a problem connecting my DDJ-SZ to my Rekordbox DJ software. The software is aware that the hardware (DDJ-SZ) is currently connected to it but none of the DDJ's player buttons i.e cue, play/pause, jog wheel, song search etc control the corresponding buttons on the software. However the DDJ's mixer is fully functional with all effects i.e Filter, jet etc working perfectly. All four channels of my DDJ's mixer are set to USB and my Macbook Pro that is running the Rekord box software is connected to the unit through USB A on the back of the unit. Master out runs directly to a KRK Rokit 8 though a XLR cable. I am running version OS X El Capitan on my Macbook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014).
