CDJs recognize my Hard drive, cue points, but rekordbox doesn't show the hard drive anymore

I use Pioneer CDJ Nexus 2000s with an external 2 TB hard drive, with a macbook air running rekordbox 4 . . . I own performance mode which I use to make sets then I perform on 3-4 CDJs at clubs.

Recently I was running out of room on my macbook so I moved my entire iTunes library to the 2TB external drive, and told iTunes where the new library was, which worked fine (except now I can't import new music into iTunes, but that's another problem).  Now all my analyzed files are missing in rekordbox  . .. and when I try to update the location by finding the file on the 2TB hard drive where the iTunes library is now located, I am given the error message: "This File is already in the collection".

So in order to make sure rekordbox knows where all my files are now I reimported the playlists from iTunes into rekordbox and they repopulated just fine, but now all the hot cue and BPM info is missing.  This took me so many hours to analyze, since I mix with acapellas a lot and so have spent many many hours analyzing acapellas (around 800 analyzed for key and correct bmp, and hot cues!!!)

My hard drive still has all the correct cue points and bpm (phew), and still works with my CDJs with all the songs and cue points.  However, for some reason now my 2TB hard drive does not show up in the "Devices" in rekordbox, although if I try to eject the 2TB hard drive from my mac finder window, it says it cannot be ejected because it is in use by rekordbox . . .(strange because I can't see it in my devices!)

I copied my "Contents" and "Pioneer" folders from my 2TB Hard drive to another hard drive, and the new hard drive also has all the cue points and BPM when I plug it into my cdjs.  This new hard drive also actually shows up in the "Devices" in rekordbox, but (dammit!!!) with no cue points.  I was hoping to sync the cue points from the new external drive into Rekordbox.

Is there a way to import my hot cues and bpm from the new hard drive into rekordbox?  They are all there when I plug it into my CDJs, but absent when it shows up in rekordbox devices.  Or, is there any way I can get my 2TB hard drive to show up in rekordbox, strangely absent after tranferring my itunes to the same hard drive?

What a mess, I just want to fix this, because now I can't put together sets using rekordbox, can't add new music to my 2TB hard drive because it's not showing up anymore, and all my analyzed files have been wiped clean of Cue points and beat grid info inside rekordbox.

(I removed your reply to the other thread as it's easier to deal with a user's needs in a situation where other users aren't also commenting.)

When I read this, I said to myself "Oh boy. That's a pretty mess."

It sounds to me like instead of trying to re-locate the missing tracks, you tried to add them again. Is that correct or did you point rekordbox to the new iTunes library location and simply try to relocate them?

Moving the Contents and Pioneer folders certainly didn't benefit the situation.

Your 2TB drive may not show up as a device because it's the source drive.

Pulse,

I first tried to relocate the missing tracks, but each time I located the track in its new location on my 2TB Hard Drive, I was given the message "The file is already in the collection".

That could be the case about my 2TB hard drive being the source and therefore not showing up .  ..

What I would love to do is transfer my cue points and BPM info back from the hard drive to rekordbox, but as I said, I copied all files to another hard drive, and it does show up in "devices", but unfortunately none of the cue points/analyzed info show up in rekordbox, even though the cue points and BPM are actually there, because they show up just fine when I plug it into my CDJs.

Is there any idea as to why the cue points would be there when in my CDJs but not in rekordbox?  If I can get them to show up is rekordbox I can transfer them from the Hard Drive to rekordbox and won't have to redomany many hours of work getting them analyzed (especially the acapellas).  I have about 600 gigs of music . . .

Pulse,

I'm still trying to fix this . . . I have 2300 "missing files" which when I use the locate missing files option rekordbox tells me "The File is Already in the Collection".

So I have all my files analyzed, in the collection, but the ones which are analyzed aren't found, and when I try to relocate, I'm told they are already there.  If I pull up one of the missing tracks in my rekordbox collection, I'm shown 2 different files:  the ones which are showing with orange exclamation marks (which I'm told cannot be found) which I have analyzed, and the same exact track (although not analyzed) right next to it.

Is there any way to point those analyzed tracks to the same files in the collection?  Obviosly the reason being to not have to reanalyze all 2230 files including 600+ acapella tracks which were a giant pain in the a## to analyze?

Why not go through the tracks and find the ones which are duplicates (unanalysed) and remove them, then go to all the ones which are missing and relocate? There is obviously something in there causing it to double up based on the filename and path.
