Quantize/sync/beatgrids

Hi,

    Moved over from Traktor to rekordbox DJ and loving it so far but have a question which arose from updating to 4.0.6 yesterday.

 

After analysing my tracks I hit quantize to get memory cue points/hot cues to "snap" to the grid however they just place themselves wherever I click and not to the nearest grid marker? I have activated/deactivated quantize and still get the same result

In "performance" I have also noticed that even with quantize set 1/8 when I do any sort of hot cue jumping/juggling the tracks drift out (even with sync activated)

 

Any ideas/solutions would be greatly appreciated ; )

If your quantize is set to 1/8, there are 7 spots between the grid markers to which your cues can "snap." If you'd prefer them to be ON the grid, set it to 1/1 instead.

Any drift / sync issues you have would be unrelated to quantize - ensure that your tracks are properly beat-gridded through the duration of the track (and that you have used NORMAL analysis for a track with electronic percussion, and DYNAMIC analysis for any track with a live drummer where there may be minute variation in the accuracy of the timing between beats).
