It's not recommended, but it can work - you just need to make a symbolic map between a local folder and the NAS network path.
I used to own a mac and now have switched to windows 7 for the time being. NAS drives were setup and formatted when I was using my mac. Not sure if they're NTFS or FAT32.
I have been able to point rekordbox to my iTunes library (stored on PC) and XML option is on in iTunes.
Rekordbox is able to read the playlists, however, it cannot play the media (stored on external/NAS drives).
I have tried assigning a new location to the media files but rekordbox just will not play it.
Could it be a firewall issue with windows? Or possibly the format of the drives? If it's the format of the drives, let me point out that I can read and write to my NAS drives easily outside of rekordbox.
Error log mentions two items:
One or more files were not imported.
Track(s) were not imported due to the following possible reasons.
- The file path is longer than 255 characters.
- Invalid file format
Tracks that were not imported
//NASDRIVE/FOLDER/TRACKNAME.mp3
Any suggestions, ideas, or help is very appreciated! I have a gig coming up and need to get this situated!

I can already see my playlists and itunes inside RB. if it was having problems locating it then the library or the latest playlists in my iTunes wouldn't show up in RB, I don't think.
So lost.
