recording audacity

hi, I have a recording problem that I can't find the answer to anywhere on forums. I have my DJM 900 plugged via USB and Ethernet to my Macbook. connecting fine to rekordbox, but cannot find DJM in Audacity.

I have USB 3/4, 5/6 set to REC OUT in DJM setting utility. Utility confirms successful USB connection between macbook and DJM. channel inputs set to CD/LINE

In Audacity, no other options for recording or playback devices, only the default built-in speakers/microphone

how do I get my DJM to appear as a recording device?

Try setting channels 1/2 as the REC OUT.

^^ as @Mark says, you need to set 1&2 as the recording channels; Audacity can only record from the first two channels of a DJM.

If you can't even see the DJM in the device selection, you should check the Audio MIDI Setup application (Applications > Utilities) to see if the DJM-900 is showing up correctly there with 8in/8out.

I have 1/2 set to REC OUT, but DJM is not showing up in Audio MIDI Devices ( I have only built in microphone and speakers), despite showing a successful connection in the DJM setting utility.

How do I get it to show?
