Rekordbox across 2 computers

Can someone please help. I'm pulling my hair out (what's left of it). My set up is as follows, main desktop upstairs running ddj rx setup and a second laptop. All music is stored on main pc with rekordbox library data. What I want to achieve is obviously use main pc for djing but prep music on laptop. The problem is I can't seem to copy the library and analysis data to laptop. I know it can be done with removable drive but how do you do out if drive is fixed in one machine? Sorry if this has been answered but can't find correct answer.

You'll need to use an external drive in order to manage your database on multiple computers.  ALL of your music files must live on that external drive.  Go to Preferences > Advanced > Database Tab > Database Management and move the database to your external hard drive.

Ok if that's what I have to do I will but I think it's a shame that you can't do what I'm asking over a local network. Surely is not that difficult to say that your library and analysis data is on a network drive?

DO NOT attempt to run it off a network drive, there's other hair pulling involved there and you won't be happy.

As @Mark says, the best bet is to move the database to an external drive. Follow my drive migration article here for more info.
