Have you tried using another ethernet cable or the other PC port on the DJM-2000?
Updated to 3.20 and now I can't connect my mac to the mixer. It's gets an 169-IP. Have tried on my PC as well, same problem.
How can I download 3.18? Can't find it.
Maybe someone knows how to fix the problem with 3.20?
No wifi, no firewall. All standard like I had on the 3.18.

Yes, two different cables, both works between my XDJ's and the DJM.
Also tried the second PC port. Same problem.
What can I try more?
A 169.x.x.x IP address is not a bad thing; that's just internally-assigned (private address). Which version of rekordbox are you running?
Thanx for your replies, Pulse!
I guess the IP is ok then, but still no link.
I've tried to rollback to 3.18, but same problem. Now back on 3.20 again.
Didn't use this computer on 3.18 before. Bought a used DJM-2000, and the owner before me got it to work on a Macbook with recordbox.
Now I have no Link in Recordbox. Nothing. Only time something shows up is when I use the USB direct to the DJM, and then get the soundcard input/output. But nothing with only ethernet.
Now I'm using:
1 x DJM-2000 v3.20
2 x XDJ-1000 v1.05
* Recordbox 4.1.1 (also tried 4.1.0)
* Mac Book Air (latest one)
* El Capitan 10.11.4
* Apple USB adapter (ethernet)
* No WIFI
* No firewall
* Disabled SIP (csrutil disable)
- Tried 4 diffrent cables
- Tried a switch between DJM and Mac
- Tried to connect directly to my XDJ's
Still no LINK in recordbox. Nothing!
Could the Apple USB adapter be the problem? Should I try a thunderbolt instead?
Really need all advice possible!
@Rikard > Thanks for all the troubleshooting, and yes, it should work, and certainly could be the adapter. Do you have another computer you could test with?
If you're having the same problem linking the computer to your XDJs, but if linking the XDJs through the DJM works fine, that isolates the problem as being with your computer.
It now works!! Changed to a thunderbolt and it worked. And for some reason, it now works when I switched back to the USB adapter as well.
Another question:
How can I see the waveform from the track playing, both on the computer and on the XDJ? Do I need to use the direct connection with USB to use the XDJ/DJM as controllers in performance mode? And in this case, using 3 different controllers, do I need to use a USB-hub and a aggregator for sound card/device?
In Export mode, I can only use the rekordbox as a media archive? and e.g drop songs to player1/2?
@Rikard > Great to hear! That's really odd, I wonder if there was some internal setting on the Mac that was flipped when you used the Thunderbolt adapter.
When you're linked, you will only see the track's waveform on the XDJ, and yes, your computer basically acts as a "smart hard drive" (or extension of your players, allowing for quicker searching, filtering and loading -- plus preview cueing).
If you were to connecting the CDJs via USB and using the XDJs as controllers for rekordbox DJ (performance mode), you would only see the scrolling waveform on the computer; the XDJ would show only the overview waveform. A USB hub would be needed as most Mac's only have 2 ports. You wouldn't necessarily need to aggregate anything as you could make the DJM the output audio device and the XDJs simply control the software.
Great answer, Pulse! Thank you!!
Is it possible to connect the DJM with USB to the computer, and connect the XDJ's to the DJM with ehternet, and then be able to use them as controllers?
@gibrich > You would connect all devices via USB to the computer; ethernet is only used for LINK mode (not rekordbox DJ / performance mode).
Thank you, Pulse!! Great support!
So, de solution (in my case), was something with the USB-adapter. But it now works again for some reason. So something within the Mac OS or hardware of the USB-port or the USB-adapter...
Yeah, truly weird but glad it's working for you now. Enjoy!
