CDJ 2000 playback stops when scrolled back too far.

I recently made the switch to USB thumb drives on cdjs. I used to use traktor to HID mode to play but with 2 DJS at the club i work at space is limited and a pain in the butt to switch through DJS.   

I scratch a lot and I'm having a problem on the cdjs when i scratch on the first beat the down beat and I go too far back play back stops. So It keeps me from throwing the track in or even basic scratching.  Is there a setting on rekordbox or the CDJ to keep this from happening? I keep all my songs in playlists and I've experimented, the only way I found the track to keep playing is if i search for each individual track.  (so theres only 1 track in each playlist) if i search by BPM etc.  but that doesn't help me.  Is there a solution for this?  

If i scroll on the jog wheel back while attempting to scratch and went to far back, it would turn back to the previous song but I have fixed that issue in rekordbox.  the problem now is playback just stops.
