My mixer gets INSANELY hot, so hot I could probably fry an egg on it! The thing that I find particularly frustrating about this issue, is it doesn't even take more than half an hour to get this hot, so I dare not even take it to the club, let alone let it remain on for anything more than hour in fear of components melting!

Do u have a exact temperature value ? My unit is getting hand warm and a little above when i using it for hours. Do u have latest firmware installed
? For me it seems that with new v2 firmware temperatures slightly lowered somewhat, but thats maye pacebo because its getting colder outside so it does in my room. But never get temperatures where I am about to think it can damage the mixer.

It gets hot because it's not getting proper ventilation. The mixer is essentially a huge metal enclosure with two sound cards, amp(s), etc.–It's going to get hot, like a computer, game system, etc.

When I use the mixer in  my flight case, which has a 1" space beneath the mixer, it remains room temperature. At events where I don't have space for the flight case, I simply place a piece of thick foam I cut out at the head of the mixer so that it rests at an angle, allowing for heat to dispense properly.

Also, be aware of the type of surface the mixer sits on–cloth or any type of fabric will not work well to dispense heat.
