All about meeting a price point. If we met every criteria and feature every user has asked for, the player would cost at least double.
So I just recently purchased this unit in hopes to using my flash drive that I use on on my nexus decks on this compact unit. With some testing back and forth I noticed there is a track limit into loading on a flash drive. I figured with all the technology that is out there I would be able to flip flop back on forth from nexus to controller on how they describe this unit when it was first launched. Does anyone know if there is a way around this or a fix that is on the horizon for this?
I really enjoy using this controller but am a little disappointed in the limit that is put on you to carry music

To the above this is for the XDJ-RX controller sorry forgot to put this down
the limit on a mobile DJ controller makes o sense, this is the reason I havent purchased any yet, My CDJ's have read drives up to 50,000 tracks yet I plug in a drive with almost 10,000 into a RX and it struggles reading it at times. hopefully the next "pro" controller isn't limited
Wondering if it's too soon to own this unit as of now.
Pulse, i would pay double if it met the criteria :)
People that use Pio products are not bedroom Dj's so instead of cutting corners I'm sure customers wouldn't mind playing more like myself on being able to move a lot of file vs getting capped at a certain point. I myself bought this hoping its almost the same as my nexus rack for a 1 man gigs and it's close but not close enough.
Actually, the majority of customers are not working DJs, believe it or not.
Unless you're doing a 45 year-long set, when would you ever need 50,000 tracks for a gig? The whole point of dual usb slots is so you have your master drive in (with 3-4000 tracks), and when old Aunty Betty comes up and requests some Dean Martin, you rip out the laptop, and dump the track onto your secondary usb and stick it in the other port.
yeah that would work if its a great request you want to drop right in in the middle of a set, lol
Mate, if you can bridge one song in between what was just requested and what you were doing, I recommend more practice. And just because someone requests it, doesn't mean it must be the next song!
Of course I can. 25 years of experience I can make anything happen but why have to go through that because a controller can't carry a big library. I use the nexus 2 decks and it handles my library perfect so I'm not complaining. Just saying nowadays why have a limit with how great technology is. Either way, to each his own. Not defending mine or anyone else's dj practice. Whatever works per individual.
Agree with BriChi, why would you want to be able to attach a bigger drive this way you can eliminate your laptop all together. This controller is not super cheap so it has some value I would think it should respond as close to the nexus decks as possible. As an example I have the nexus decks and I can use my stick that I use for that on this controller. I should be able to with no issues
