RX3 only the Mixer function for Traktor Pro

Is it possible to control Traktor Pro 3 exclusively with the internal mixer? This means using the line faders, crossfader, and EQ directly without using an external mixer. Or is there an alternative, such as using an external sound card for both channels? Or is the purchase of a Traktor-certified mixer ultimately the only option?
