Midi mapping issues

Hi! So I have a FLX6 and the software fully up to date. I'm trying to use my Novation LaunchPad XL to control my CFX. The problem is, the software will only recognize the hardware for about 30 seconds or so before it stops and won't recognize it again until I uninstall the LaunchPad and reinstall it. Even then the CFX on and Next and Previous buttons NEVER work outside of when the midi learn window is open AND the Learn button is highlighted. Seems to me like what I'm trying to do is possible, there just might be something wrong. Any advice?
