No track list with DJM-REC

Hey

Although I have the compatible hardware: V10 + 2 CDJ3000, connected by Ethernet (Link is working well apparently), I'm not able to see the tracklist when recording with DJM-REC.

I'm pretty sure it worked in the past when I first tried this app (like 1.5 years ago).

I have:

  • DJM-REC v1.4.1.5.
  • tested on iPad 6 (iPadOS 16.6) and iPhone 14Pro (iOS 17.2.1)
  • V10-LF firmware 1.12
  • CDJ3000 firmware 3.11

Not sure what could I do next. Any thoughts?

I sent my DJM-V10-LF to the repair center 2+ weeks ago and waiting for updates.

I tested previously the exact same configuration but with a DJM-A9 instead of the V10 and all worked perfectly. Which means that the problem is with the V10 (and I suspect a software issue with one of the firmware updates).

Are you hitting the same issue?

I haven’t seen that issue on my V10 so far, but it could indeed be firmware related. Did you try rolling back to a previous firmware version before sending it in? That might help confirm if it’s a software bug.

TL;DR: Switch to an iPhone to make it work. The iPad build might be broken.

We managed to reproduce the problem but this is happening only in certain conditions: specific iPad version and specific iOS version.

With an iPhone, I can not reproduce the issue. I tried both with an older iPhone and a new one.

Here is a test we did at an official repair (Lab7, Paris).
  • DJM-V10-LF with DJM-REC on Lab7 iPhone: success ✅
  • DJM-V10-LF with DJM-REC on my iPad: failure ❌
  • DJM-V10-LF with DJM-REC on my iPhone: failure ❌

Note that my iPhone and the one from Lab7 are exactly:
  • the same models: iPhone 14 Pro
  • same iOS version: 18.3.2
  • same DJM-REC version: 1.5.2.18

Then we click on RESET on my iPhone and run:
  • DJM-V10-LF with DJM-REC on my iPhone: success ✅

Then we click on RESET on my iPad and run:
  • DJM-V10-LF with DJM-REC on my iPad: failure ❌

We tried then DJM-A9 in place of DJM-V10-LF:
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on Lab7 iPhone: failure ❌
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on my iPad: failure ❌
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on my iPhone: failure ❌

We checked the DJM-A9 firmware and found out that it was not up to date, so we upgraded it, then run:
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on Lab7 iPhone: success ✅
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on my iPad: failure ❌
  • DJM-A9 with DJM-REC on my iPhone: success ✅

Fun fact: 2 months ago, I did the exact same thing with a friend of mine DJM-A9 and it was a success on my iPad. ✅

I don’t have any other iPad at hand to check.
Please note that the DJM-REC on my iPad is able to record the sound and is seeing the DJM-V10 device as follows (from the General settings, Info on the iPad).
