My XDJ-700s won't sync with Rekordbox on my laptop via USB cables

Hi everyone. I have just made up a custom DJ deck with 2 x xdj-700s and a Reloop RMX 60 mixer.

For some reason the players won't sync properly to my Rekorbox 6 on my laptop. I have the 2 players connected by USB straight into my laptop. No ethernet is plugged in. It has windows 10 and is an Asus laptop. I have installed the CDJ/XDJ ASIO driver.

If I switch to performance mode in Rekordbox and then on either player press LINK to sync them to the laptop it says USB- Midi on the player screen and I press to enter that. It now shows up and says pc on the bottom of the player however it is still not synced to Rekordbox on the laptop and nothing else comes up on the player screen. Won't select any tracks or designate a player number option when I turn the dial.

The laptop seems to be identifying the players however just won't connect to them correctly. I have selected the ASIO driver in Rekordbox and the output players as 1 and 2 in preferences. Have watched every tutorial and info i could find but as yet no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Did you get any luck solving this one?

I'm having similar problems trying to link my new xdj to laptop.

Thanks

Ensure that you've configured your Rekordbox settings correctly for the XDJ-700s:

  • ASIO Driver Selection: Double-check that "CDJ/XDJ ASIO Driver" is selected as the audio device under the Audio tab in Preferences.
  • Output Channels: In Preferences > Audio, make sure that Players 1 and 2 are set as the output channels.
  • Controller Settings: Ensure that under Controller, your XDJ-700s are recognized. If they don’t appear, try reconnecting the USB cables or resetting Rekordbox.

(It seems like you're asking about Sprunki Clicker, but there's no widely known or official game by that exact name?

Dear Support!
"wait" text is written on the display for a long time when searching between categories. usage 240Gb M.2 external kingston ssd, 100Gb filled with music. The CDJ900nxs was able to search very quickly with the same, what can be done with the XDJ700 device to speed it up?

Best regards

Verify that the XDJ-700s are properly set up in Rekordbox:

Verify that the audio device "CDJ/XDJ ASIO Driver" is chosen in the Preferences menu's Audio tab.
Distribution Routes: To ensure that Players 1 and 2 are selected as the output channels, go to Preferences > Audio.
Parameters for the Controller: Make sure that your XDJ-700s are listed as recognized under Controller. If they still don't show up, try resetting Rekordbox or reattaching the USB cords.

@Helene Hadsell Helene, that's true, but the XDJ-700 does not support full Rekordbox LINK over USB alone.

When you press LINK on the player and it shows USB-MIDI, you're entering MIDI control mode, not true LINK mode!

You may need to connect via Ethernet (Pro DJ Link) instead of USB only. The XDJ-700 only uses USB for MIDI control, retro bowl college, while browsing and selecting music via Rekordbox requires a LAN.

When you press the LINK button on the XDJ-700 and it displays "USB-MIDI," it means the player is operating as a simple MIDI controller, not as a networked media player. In this mode, the player's PerYourHealth buttons and jog wheel will control Rekordbox, but it won't display track information on its screen or allow you to browse your Rekordbox library directly.

I had a nearly identical setup with my XDJ-700s and ran into the same issue — turns out, the missing link was the Ethernet connection. USB alone won’t enable full track browsing or deck assignment from Rekordbox; you need a LAN hub to get proper HID control. I wasted hours like I did looking for fixes on random forums and even took a break playing fnfgo to cool off — but once I added the network cable, it all worked perfectly.

When I read 'USB-Midi' on the player screen, I couldn't help but roll my eyes. It’s so frustrating when everything seems in place but still doesn’t sync. I often find myself checking updates on the go, like waiting for the train. How often does tech let us down just when we need it?

That sounds really frustrating. From what you described, it might work better if you connect the XDJ-700s using Pro DJ Link (Ethernet) instead of USB, since Rekordbox tends to sync more reliably that way. Also double-check the player numbers and that everything is set correctly in performance mode.

Hope you get it sorted soon! You can also check some helpful info here: u dise plus.
